This trip was a birthday present for my daughter and on arrival we were surprised to be given an upgrade plus a bottle of prosecco was opened for us and a surprise birthday treat in the room. To me this was a lovely gesture and my daughter was delighted.

There is a lot of history to learn of particular interest to the British from the first settlement to the present day. To appreciate the city it is necessary to walk everywhere- over the peace bridge, along the road with the murals in Bogside, around the Guildhall, walk the city walls and visit museums etc. Plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Really friendly helpful people. Very easy city to navigate.
Really friendly helpful people. Very easy city to navigate. Highly recommend participating in a walking tour (around the walled area) of the city. Takes about an hour, but is really helpful (historically).
We had just an overnight & until the following early afternoon. Will definitely be returning!
Street parking close to No 9 is free of charge from 6pm until 9am, car parks close by to park in from 9am!

We went on a guided tour of city and it was really worthwhile and enlightening and gave us a feel of what the city has been through. Our accommodation was within walking distance a brilliant location . Exchange rate made things expensive. Definitely worth a visit and we will certainly return, easy to drive around.

We booked and paid for the hot tub and didn’t even use it as as soon as we checked in we leave and tried to find a better hotel
I also asked for champagne and sweets on arrival as you are not aloud to bring your own drink and we didn’t revive any thing

Went mid-week over Valentines for 2 nights.
Went mid-week over Valentines for 2 nights. The towpath walk from the hotel (Waterfoot Hotel) to the Peace Bridge and town at around 45 mins was lovely (it was a dry morning) as was the bridge itself.
Loved Sandino's quirky cuban themed bar and also the Taphouse bar near the Guildhall (Music/Singer in the Taphouse from 9pm was great on a Thursday night).
Sooty Olive restaurant (Waterside) then Silver Street bar/restaurant (main town) are both good food places to have dinner & drinks - Silver Street being more economical. City Walls a great experience also.

This is an absolutely fabulous 'snug', a well equipped kitchen and longue on the ground floor and a delightful bedroom with a massive bed on the first (with an attached shower room and lavatory). I have stayed in many hotels and rented apartments on my travels over the last 12 years and this was the greatest place I've stayed in. And you will pay more to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Derry (and I have!)
When in Derry/Londonderry, I always hang my hat in the Shipquay Boutique - apart from being a stunning hotel, the staff make it the best, and every stay worthwhile! From check-in, the reception staff were welcoming and resolved a personal request about my room...Top class! Even a complimentary glass of Prosecco ! Thanks guys and see you soon :-)
Location excellent (high side of town opposite castle walls, short walk to Bogside murals), safe paid parking nearby in Bishopsgate St and lovely character rooms. Kieran has a warm and curious personality - great company at breakfast.
Would recommend dining at Bishopsgate Hotel (200m from No8) - ambience, food, service and price excellent.
The Waterfoot Hotel is located in the Waterside of the city. Our stay was very comfortable. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. We had lunch in the restaurant the following day and all the staff were very helpful and the food was excellent.
The location is right in the town center. Minutes walking to the wall and Waterloo bar street, and right next to boutique shops. The welcome Champagne and the warm reception. The hotel restaurant is top quality. The free breakfast has a lot options and is full service.
Having underground parking was a real plus. The hotel is just next to the old city wall which made for an easy stroll down to the museum. If we'd had more energy we could've even walk down to see the Free Derry murals. The hill was a bit steep for us so we drove down.
Our rooms were quite large and had excellent black-out curtains. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and we enjoyed both. This was the best hotel breakfast of our 10-day tour in Ireland. The parking garage underneath the hotel was very convenient.
The room is large with lots of space compared to normal hotel rooms. The bathroom as well is a good size. Everything was clean. It has water, tea, and small snacks in the room. Breakfast has a good variety. city centre is a short walk.
The hotel is brand new, clean and modern. Both rooms and beds are large and comfortable, and the onsite spa is a lovely added bonus. A great location if you don't mind a short walk to the city centre.
The staff where lovely, the breakfast was really nice, rooms where really big and comfortable and a good value for money, hotel was really close to the city centre would definitely stay again
Beautiful home overlooking Londonderry. Host was incredibly nice and accommodating. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and at-home. Loved her homemade bread at breakfast.
Pleasant Hotel set on the main road in to Londonderry. Rooms clean and fresh. Restaurant food excellent - good servings and very reasonable prices. Breakfast delicious
The location is five star to explore Londonderry. The rooms are spacious with plenty of space. The host lives next door and welcomed us when we arrive.
