Enjoyed the McCrossan walking tour- gives you an understanding of the history and you get your bearings to walk around independently. The Guildhall was interesting and well worth a visit. Good choice of restaurants and bars. We had a lovely meal at Fitzroy, drinks at Badgers pub and a great traditional music evening at Peader O’Donnell’s pub. Great shopping centre too - Dunne’s is a great shop !

There is a lot of history to learn of particular interest to the British from the first settlement to the present day. To appreciate the city it is necessary to walk everywhere- over the peace bridge, along the road with the murals in Bogside, around the Guildhall, walk the city walls and visit museums etc. Plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Really friendly helpful people. Very easy city to navigate.
Really friendly helpful people. Very easy city to navigate. Highly recommend participating in a walking tour (around the walled area) of the city. Takes about an hour, but is really helpful (historically).
We had just an overnight & until the following early afternoon. Will definitely be returning!
Street parking close to No 9 is free of charge from 6pm until 9am, car parks close by to park in from 9am!

We went on a guided tour of city and it was really worthwhile and enlightening and gave us a feel of what the city has been through. Our accommodation was within walking distance a brilliant location . Exchange rate made things expensive. Definitely worth a visit and we will certainly return, easy to drive around.

We booked and paid for the hot tub and didn’t even use it as as soon as we checked in we leave and tried to find a better hotel
I also asked for champagne and sweets on arrival as you are not aloud to bring your own drink and we didn’t revive any thing

The location right in centre of Derry and beside both main shopping centres, was perfect for our trip to the Millenium Forum being only a 3 minute walk away although it is up a bit of a hill but well lit up at night .
The staff throughout hotel were very pleasant .
The Maldron beds were comfortable .
The room we had ,shower was over the bath and was powerful and warm .
Tea ,coffee making facilities ,herbal teas and still water were all included.
Breakfast was a buffet breakfast .Food was lovely .
Good Value for money in a city centre hotel.
This is an absolutely fabulous 'snug', a well equipped kitchen and longue on the ground floor and a delightful bedroom with a massive bed on the first (with an attached shower room and lavatory). I have stayed in many hotels and rented apartments on my travels over the last 12 years and this was the greatest place I've stayed in. And you will pay more to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Derry (and I have!)
We completely LOVED this hotel! It was gorgeous and we had such an incredible room! The attention to detail was really lovely. We were both blown away again and again. The staff were also super nice and very attentive. They answered all of our questions and even gave us some ideas of what to do about parking since parking in the area can be incredibly difficult. We would love to stay here again.
Location is perfect everything to see and do is on your door step. Derry is seeped in history and there’s so much to do in the city centre. The hotel was really nice and the food was lovely. Our room was cleaned and beds made everyday. Staff were lovely although you could see that there was a lot of new staff who were clearly finding there feet and some times we waited ages for a drink
The location was ideal, a short walk and you were in the centre of everything. We arrived on a Sunday and most of the restaurants in the town closed at 8pm so we headed back to the hotel in a taxi for less than £5 where we had a lovely 2 course meal in the hotel restaurant which was open till 9pm. Highly recommend this hotel for its friendliness alone.
Ryan at the reception desk went out of his way to welcome me to Derry and gave me a map and highlighted a couple of the spots I wanted to visit. He was so friendly and is a true asset to the hotel. Max in the bar was also brilliant, a very attentive waiter and very well trained, impeccable, like he had worked in a michelin restaurant previously.
Lovely hotel and extremely friendly and professional members of hotel team. The lady in reception (Kiera) was very helpful when we arrived and helped us settle in. Hotel room was very good and very comfortable, location is a short drive from city centre and plenty of parking spaces. Highly recommend this hotel.
Very friendly and helpful male receptionist. Comfortable quiet room. Buffet breakfast was OK nothing amazing. Staff very nice with prompt service. Within few mins drive of city centre. Took taxi to and from local restaurant. Fantastic trad hotel bar with open fire for late drinks.
Good choice of food for breakfast.
Location of hotel was great for us, as it was easy to get into the city centre across the Peace Bridge, and also convenient when we wanted to return to Belfast by train, as the station is a 10 minute walk along the river.
Lovely Boutique Hotel right in the center of Derry. Staff was very friendly. lounge had speakeasy feel on the lower level and was very comfortable to hang out at night. Restaurant staff was very attentive and nice, very good breakfast too.
Very friendly owner that provides small, but comfy and clean rooms. The BnB is located in good walking distance to the city centre of Derry/Londonderry, making it easy to explore the city and the Troubles Murals close-by.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were so friendly and really accommodating and friendly. Brilliant stay and close to the city centre. It was great weather so we were able to walk
Very big and clean room with spacious private bathroom. The hotel is located in the centre of Derry, close to Pubs and Restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you!
Excellent location right in the heart of the city. Staff were both helpful and friendly especially Simon. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will most certainly stay again.
From start to finish the staff in Shipquay hotel went the extra mile to ensure we had the best stay for my mums birthday. Thanks so much. We will be back
