The location was amazing and unique. Top three in Greece excluding islands which is a different category. This area is remote but hugely sophisticated in the availability of infrastructure and the perks that we have been spoiled with. There is wifi even on the remotest paths in complete wilderness. The hotel was beautifully decorated with a minimalist modern look in combination with a great feminine touch. Thoughtful and inspiring touches throughout, even in the hallways and staircases. The room was the largest I've seen in Europe. The bedding was very comfortable. The views beyond terrific. The staff was just the most wonderful, sweet, considerate, thoughtful and hugely helpful staff I have ever come across. I left feeling like we had become friends. So much emotional warmth and care. Finally the breakfasts were perfect with everything being prepared freshly and by the family.

Gefiri Plakas ligger i byn Plaka i Tzoumerka och har ett spa och en restaurang. Boendet omges av en trädgård och erbjuder smakfullt inredda rum med balkong och utsikt över bergen. Wonderful place. Niki was very helpful and nice. She provided us with very good information about tours and tracks in the area. Food is excellent. We arrived at 3 from rafting and they served also lunch.

Stavraetos ligger i ett stenhus i den vackra byn Syrrako i bergsområdet Tzoumerka. Hotellet ligger på 1 150 meters höjd och är omgivet av lummig grönska. Stavraetos was definitely the best accomodation during our month-long Balkans trip. Splendid location, overlooking the plateia of a beautiful village. Getting there was half the fun - a longish drive on winding roads in one of the most spectacular areas of Europe. The village of Syrrako has preserved its authenticity and is much less touristy than the villages of the nearby more popular Zagoria area. The property is located in an atmospheric old house. Our charming room was furnished with a lot of style, yet including full modern comforts. Very friendly hosts, English spoken. As an added bonus, they also operate a restaurant serving delicious local food for very reasonable prices. Syrrako is located at an altitude of ca. 1150 meters, so nights and mornings are cool even in summer. Anyway, as we visited during a heat wave of historic proportions our room still got quite warm, so adding a small fan to the room would be a good idea for such periods which are sadly quite likely in the future. Free parking on the outskirts of the village, some 10 minutes walk from the hotel (the village itself is car-free which adds to its charm).

Orizontes Tzoumerkon ligger i Pramanta Village och omges av bergskedjor och en lummig skog med cederträd och granar. De rustika rummen har fantastisk utsikt över den omgivande naturen. Lugnet, naturen, läget. Rummet var rymligt och hade allt man behövde. Maten på restaurangen var god, prisvärd, stora portioner. Fantastiskt! Jag reste med barn och personalen var behjälplig och såg till att barnen fick vad de ville.

Anavasi Mountain Resort ligger bland träd i byn Tsopela och är byggt i traditionell sten med modern standard. Här finns en inomhuspool och balkonger med utsikt över bergen. Lovely place with lovely hosts!

Archontiko Tzoumerkon är byggt i traditionell stil och ligger centralt i Agnanta, nära floden Arachtos. Här finns en restaurang och en bar. Clean, spacious room with comfortable beds to rest after a trekking day. Friendly staff always eager to help and make our staying comfortable. I would recommend the place to anyone that wishes to stay in the part of Tzoumerka, great value for money.

Αρχοντικό Βογιάρου ligger i Kalarrytes i Epirus, 18 km från Anemotrypa Cave och 49 km från Kastritsa cavern. Här finns en bar. Utöver rumsservice har det här boendet också en restaurang och en... Good location and our room was nice and spacious with a wonderful view. It is a family-run business and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. We got instructions on how to get to the hotel one day before our departure which is highly appreciated. The breakfast is home made and you can have lunch and dinner there. We got recommendations from Mrs Christina to visit some beautiful places like the Kouiasa Bridge and waterfalls, Kipina monastery, do the hiking trail from Kalarrytes to Syrrako and back, and visit Pramanta and Melissourgoi. All in all, it was a really nice experience.
