Situated in Melissourgoi, 6.2 km from Anemotrypa Cave, Hotel Koferita features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. The location was amazing and unique. Top three in Greece excluding islands which is a different category. This area is remote but hugely sophisticated in the availability of infrastructure and the perks that we have been spoiled with. There is wifi even on the remotest paths in complete wilderness. The hotel was beautifully decorated with a minimalist modern look in combination with a great feminine touch. Thoughtful and inspiring touches throughout, even in the hallways and staircases. The room was the largest I've seen in Europe. The bedding was very comfortable. The views beyond terrific. The staff was just the most wonderful, sweet, considerate, thoughtful and hugely helpful staff I have ever come across. I left feeling like we had become friends. So much emotional warmth and care. Finally the breakfasts were perfect with everything being prepared freshly and by the family.

Set amidst lush greenery, the stone-built Stavraetos is located in the scenic Syrrako Village of Tzoumerka, at an altitude of 1150 metres. Stavraetos was definitely the best accomodation during our month-long Balkans trip. Splendid location, overlooking the plateia of a beautiful village. Getting there was half the fun - a longish drive on winding roads in one of the most spectacular areas of Europe. The village of Syrrako has preserved its authenticity and is much less touristy than the villages of the nearby more popular Zagoria area. The property is located in an atmospheric old house. Our charming room was furnished with a lot of style, yet including full modern comforts. Very friendly hosts, English spoken. As an added bonus, they also operate a restaurant serving delicious local food for very reasonable prices. Syrrako is located at an altitude of ca. 1150 meters, so nights and mornings are cool even in summer. Anyway, as we visited during a heat wave of historic proportions our room still got quite warm, so adding a small fan to the room would be a good idea for such periods which are sadly quite likely in the future. Free parking on the outskirts of the village, some 10 minutes walk from the hotel (the village itself is car-free which adds to its charm).

Set within mountain ranges and a lush forest of cedar and fir trees, the year-round Orizontes Tzoumerkon is located in Pramanta Village. Amazing hotel! We stayed for three nights but would have loved to stay even longer if it was possible. The quietness, the view, the breakfast, the staff, all were exceptional!

Traditional stone-built structure with modern standards, Anavasi Mountain Resort is situated amongst trees in Tsopela village. It features an indoor swimming pool and balconies with mountain views. Lovely place with lovely hosts!

Traditionally built Archontiko Tzoumerkon is centrally situated in Agnanta, near River Arachtos and features a restaurant and bar. Clean, spacious room with comfortable beds to rest after a trekking day. Friendly staff always eager to help and make our staying comfortable. I would recommend the place to anyone that wishes to stay in the part of Tzoumerka, great value for money.

Featuring a bar, Αρχοντικό Βογιάρου is situated in Kalarrites in the Epirus region, 18 km from Anemotrypa Cave and 49 km from Kastritsa cavern. Good location and our room was nice and spacious with a wonderful view. It is a family-run business and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. We got instructions on how to get to the hotel one day before our departure which is highly appreciated. The breakfast is home made and you can have lunch and dinner there. We got recommendations from Mrs Christina to visit some beautiful places like the Kouiasa Bridge and waterfalls, Kipina monastery, do the hiking trail from Kalarrytes to Syrrako and back, and visit Pramanta and Melissourgoi. All in all, it was a really nice experience.
