Understated elegance in every aspect, and outstanding quality in every aspect as well! Rooms - size, decor, amenities, view, rooftop patio for one of our rooms, both rooms just wonderful! A very nice, new, efficient, quiet, elevator Parking - right in front of the hotel ! Location - across from a beautiful park and close to town center Food - beyond excellent !! Dinner, breakfast, wine list far exceeded expections!! Value for cost: while not , definitely feel like we received extremely high quality service, lodging,, food and drink for the price Owner/Manager Roger - went above and beyond, sharing menu information, wine suggestions, food options for our two 9 year old children The rest of the staff were equally inviting and helpful at all times, from our reception host on 6/15 to the he lady staff member who helped me find more sugar at 0500 on 6/16 to our waitstaff. We stayed in 5 different hotels during our trip to England, all of the same "level", and this hotel far exceeded all others on this trip, and definitely in the top 5 of all hotels in our lifetime travels in terms of the combination of all factors that make a stay pleasant - elegance, quality, amenities, convenience, service. England's most northerly hotel, just 300 yards from the Scottish Border, the Marshall Meadows Manor House is set in 15 acres woodland gardens and boasts sea views and good food. This place is like paradise. The manor directly at the sea, you can have a walk on a public footpath at the shore. The Manor itself is so beautiful, the rooms super tidy, you can sit on the bench by the window watching over the sea. The breakfast was super, the price for All this more than worth it

Gjestfrie. Ble tatt godt i mot selvom jeg var helt utslitt av å gå ca. 2 mil. Rommet var til over forventing, med badekar midt i rommet. I tillegg til eget stort bad med dusj. Veldig romlig.

Words really fail me to explain how special this property was. The attention to every single detail was exquisite. I’m a professional organizer. My business is details. I’ve never seen anything like this. Everything - even the lights on the floor that automatically come on when you walk into the bathroom - was planned perfectly when this former convent was remodeled to make a sacred space for all its guests. There was even framed sheet music in the halls to, I assume, pay homage to the beautiful music that must’ve once graced the hallways. The staff was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was like something out of a Veranda magazine spread. The breakfast was delicious. At every turn in the hotel and the room itself, we were met with a delightful and unexpected experience. Who puts this much thought into a public space? The Cookie Jar does. You made our once-in-a-lifetime trip unforgettable.

Everything was amazing. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so nice and accommodating. This 1700’s inn was charming and quirky. The service, the food(!!!), and George, the (owner?manager?) is one of the nicest humans I have had the pleasure of meeting.
