We really enjoyed our stay and the atmosphere that characterises Lumley Castle. It was cozy and lovely. I would defined recommend staying in this place for a weekend getaway (especially during Christmas season). This castle is gorgeous and the staff was really kind. There is a wonderful bar, restaurant and breakfast room which are worth trying!

Desayuno muy completo. Pudimos cenar dos noches en el restaurante y los platos estaban muy ricos, elaborados con productos de granjas cercanas. El personal fue muy atento. Durante la estancia decidimos alargar una noche más y a pesar de tener todas las reservas completas, nos buscaron una habitación. Además, tuvimos que recibir por correo los tests de covid obligatorios y estuvieron muy pendientes. El entorno es precioso y Durham, a 10 minutos, una ciudad bellisima. Nice view out of the window and a great hiking trail across the street. The manager, Anthony was friendly and gave us good advice for the Durham area. We had a lot of fun in the pub there. Good restaurant and authentic Indian food at the Croxdale Inn.

This is the second time I have stayed at Newlands Lodges and would return for a 3rd. The lodges are in a beautiful tranquil setting. The views are incredible. Having stayed in both summer and autumn both are equally beautiful. The lodge just has a lovely feel to it. The decor is tasteful. The beds are extremely comfortable and its the perfect place to escape for the weekend with family or friends.
