The breakfast was simple, like most continental breakfasts in Europe. Nothing special but nice enough. We ate dinner there every night, and everything was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend the house-made hazelnut schnapps. I wish I could have bought a bottle. It is 150 meters from the small village center. We had nice drinks and cakes there.

Com um jardim e um terraço para banhos de sol, a Pension Waldhäusl está tranquilamente localizada em Bad Schandau, apenas a 6 minutos de carro do Rio Elba. The staff was very very kind and friendly. A true family business which is rooted in the area. Also, the room was very quiet and newly renovated. Breakfast was very good. Good link with public transport as well. Dinner (add additional charge) was very high quality local food. Albeit being situated on a seemingly big road, there practically no traffic and the area was quiet.

Tranquilamente situado no coração do centro histórico de Wehlen, o Wehlener Hof está apenas a 100 metros das margens do Rio Elba. A charming little hotel at the central square of Wehlen, the location couldn't be better, you can find pretty much everything the town has offer just around the corner. The train station is on the other side of the Elbe, but there is an excellent ferry service that gets you over the river in 2 min, there is practically no waiting time as the service is "on demand", and once you get off the ferry, the hotel is just another 2 min walk away. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, you can see that they love what they are doing. The breakfast had an incredible variety of some really creative homemade marmalades, four days weren't enough for us to try them all. Our room had a spacious bathroom and a large terrace.

Great hotel near the centrum of Bad Schandau. The staff speaks germen and sometimes also czech. Great location for if you would like hiking in near national park.
