The Peat Inn, nestled in the picturesque countryside of Fife, is a true gem for those seeking a luxurious and gastronomic experience.
Our stay in one of their exquisite split level suite was nothing short of exceptional. The tastefully decorated suite radiated elegance and provided all the necessary amenities for a relaxing and indulgent experience. The attention to detail in every aspect of the room was impressive, from the plush bedding to the opulent bathroom fixtures.
A major highlight of my stay was the delectable evening meal. The Peat Inn's Michelin-starred restaurant serves up culinary masterpieces that tantalize the taste buds and leave you craving for more. Each dish on the seasonal menu was beautifully presented and featured fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, showcasing the region's rich produce. The knowledgeable staff provided impeccable service and were always ready to offer insightful wine pairing recommendations to complement the exquisite flavors.
The breakfast was equally delightful, served in the comfort of my room. A lavish spread of fresh fruit, pastries, marmalade, honey and jams accompanied by freshly brewed coffee and tea made for a delightful start to the day.
Another noteworthy feature was the stunning garden view from the bedroom. The meticulously landscaped garden, adorned with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, added an extra touch of charm to the already picturesque setting.
In conclusion, I highly recommend a stay at The Peat Inn for those seeking luxury accommodation and an unforgettable dining experience. This Fife treasure has mastered the art of combining refined elegance with warm hospitality, making it a truly memorable destination.

Really liked St Andrew. My husband was keen to see the golf course and photos were taken at the 18th hole. He went to the golf museum which he said was very good ! I went upstairs for a coffee and enjoyed the lovely views of the golf course and beach.
The shopping area is good in the town too.
The university accommodation was adequate and a good price for St Andrews.
We had a very nice day there.

This is a great and friendly town, which is very crowded all year around with either students or tourists. It is very clean and a joy to walk around. Worth visiting the town centre on foot and just enjoying the small shops and boutiques as well as the ancient college buildings.
St Andrews is a small town, especially the tourist part and so it shouldn't take more than 2 hours to walk around the entire town and see all its sights. However, give it a day to actually go into all the key tourist attractions. Then just spend time drinking in the ambience of the town.
Its worth the time to explore many of St Andrews back alleys and small lanes and if you got the time, take Lade Braes Walk down to the Botanic Gardens along Kinness Burn (probably 30 minutes from start of walk).
Parking is pretty limited in the town, so best to park in your lodgings and walk in or get a bus (very regular due to student community). Most of the town is at 20 MPH if you do drive and has speed bumps everywhere. Many of the side roads are narrow and if you must park in town, most of the roads have Parking Meters.
Nice beaches near the golf course (West Sands) and below the cliffs (East Sands) although the water is quite cold most of the year around.

This should be on every golfers bucket list.
This should be on every golfers bucket list. You really get into the feel of what links golf is. It's also a University town so lots of students abound but great pubs and restaurants and shopping make for lots to see and do.
Make sure to visit the cathedral ruins (stone from which built the town) and the nearby town of Anstruther for great fish and chips at "The Wee Chippy".

We came up to look at the university.
We came up to look at the university. Arrived later in the afternoon and stayed two nights. We don’t play golf, but walked all around the town giving it a thorough overview, and even had a dip at West Sands. It’s bracing!!! 😳Everyone we met was delightful - engaging and smiling. It felt like we’d stumbled across Brigadoon! An antidote to the troubles we all seem to face on the daily news, the air is clean and fresh, the history palpable.it is a genuine town that embraces its visitors and makes them feel very welcome.

In addition to picture perfect St Andrews, steeped in history and many many happy uni memories, there are lots of pretty towns and villages along the East Neuk coast to explore. We took a boat to Bass Rock on our journey to the Offgrid Hideaway at Cambo, stopping off in North Berwick and squeezing in a walk up The Law to take in spectacular views of Fife. I’d recommend having a bite to eat at The Ship Inn at Elie and the Giddy Gannet in St Monan’s - they have divine cinnamon buns and the best coffee and ambience around, plus sumptuous smoked salmon and bacon sarnies all prepared with friendly professional service. Loved the coastal walk from Anstruther to Cambo Sands. Bought some great handmade oilskin bags and a bespoke hat from the maker at Fabrik in Crail, and discovered a gorgeous bracelet and drawing, both from The Beehive. Lovely walks around Cambo gardens including the incredible walled garden. And no midges!
The Rest was perfect for two who loved to play golf. A lot of room for all our stuff and a lovely living room/kitchen area. In the bathroom, the shower was great.
The Rest is located well, and it was easy to walk to downtown St. Andrews when needed. Also, there were many choices for grocery shopping nearby.
We especially admired the kitchen facilities, with different spices and a great variety of tea and coffee to use.
St Andrews is a lovely place to visit.
Hotel location is great within St Andrews- near the shops and main streets
Food is nice. Esp Haggis balls. We had eaten there on a previous visit to St Andrews so thought we would stay this time.
Room was tidy and spacious
St Andrews is not a cheap place to visit, and given the other options, the prices are very fair.
I used to stay at the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews. It is a lovely hotel but the service recently has been very poor. The management doesn’t seem to do anything extra to retain regular custom, so sad. The Fairmont service has been excellent always doing that bit extra for their guests. Definitely now superior to the Old Course!
Everything was absolutely perfect! Felt like a home away from home. The most warm & friendly hosts; delicious full-Scottish breakfast each morning; very comfortable rooms; incredible views over looking St. Andrews; overall everything was outstanding! Many thanks to our wonderful hosts for the delicious jar of homemade honey.
I visited my daughter who came here for a study abroad program in St. Andrews. We loved the room with 3 beds, exceeding my expectation. The breakfast was excellent too. My kids & I enjoyed it very much. The location is great, in the center of the town, very close to everything.
Booked for a weekend visit to St Andrews University. The location of Hotel Du Vin could not have been better! Everything
was within walking distance. In addition, the views were amazing. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The breakfast
offerings were excellent.
Everything about this property is perfect!!!! First of all it's beautiful!!! The location is perfect, the house is so spacious, it has everything you need and is immaculate. We will try to stay here every visit to see our daughter at St. Andrews. It's absolutely the best!!
The location is fantastic. It's 300 metres away from the first tee at the Old Course, steps from the ocean, and within a short walk of pubs, restaurants, and a Tesco Express. Lots of shopping nearby. The hotel is very clean, and is a very comfortable place to stay
Hotel was cozy with nice decor, both in the common areas and the rooms. The staff we really friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is very convenient for almost anywhere in downtown St Andrews, whilst also not being too noisy.
Spotlessly clean, felt like a brand new property as it was immaculate. Really comfy beds, good quality linen and the bonus free fridge contents were a lovely surprise. Location was excellent too, a stone’s throw from the center. Highly recommend this hotel.
Glenderran House was spotlessly clean and is very well located between the main shopping streets of St. Andrews, the sea and the golf course. We had a decent-sized room and a perfectly adequate bathroom. It was very quiet at the back of the house.
Everything.
Location was the best, hosts even better.
Amazing views. Better to stay 5 minutes from.st andrews in rural authentic setting.
Amazing breakfast every day...
Just fabulous... I would rather stay here again than old course hotel.
Everything about our stay was excellent, the suite was beautiful and the food, dinner and breakfast was outstanding but it's the relaxed service that we enjoy the most about the Old Course Hotel
Besides the beauty of the hotel and scenery, the people are outstanding! If you want comfort and luxury, without pretension, this is your place. I didn’t want to leave!
The breakfast was amazing, the location was even better and the staff were very pleasant and so helpful. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone else.
Excellent location, free parking, clean basic accommodation. Within walking distance to Old Course Hotel and beach, 15mins walk into town centre. No complaints
