General overview of Folkestone was fantastic, local amenities, plenty of places for food and drink. Local convenience via Uber eats. Very clean, and overall looks amazing. Would highly recommend Folkestone to family and friends. However I wouldn’t recommend The Carlton Hotel. That was awful!

Folkestone is a really beautiful place with friendly people.
Folkestone is a really beautiful place with friendly people. The sea view can be mistaken for overseas and the grass area is lush. The choice of pebble or sand beach is a bonus and Folkestone Harbour is a lovely area to relax and enjoy the vibes. It's not to far from London and has many lovely hotels a stone throw from the beach. On each occasion I have visited, I have enjoyed immensely. The last occasion I was able to enjoy the Folkestone festival, with live, great performances held at the bandstand and a variety of stalls offering different products. There are a variety of good restaurants to chose from including the hotels. The View Hotel where we stayed provided a tasty flavoursome meal one evening. Folkestone is easy to navigate and a lovely place just to walk and explore.

Folkstone is a very friendly place to visit, loads of places to eat and drink.
The only downside was the food stall on the harbour closed too early it would have been nice if they stayed open longer.

Thge usual nasty little Englanders prevail in this most Brexit-voting of districts. However there are some nice harbourside pubs which were well-run and friendly (I would particularly recommend The Harbour Inn which despite it's rather busy location is an excellent pub, welcoming and well-run.
Folkestone is a town in two halves. I stayed in the harbour area when I would have enjoyed staying nearer the venue I was attending, and would have enjoyed better facilities in the mid town area, I would conclude.

Folkestone has a lot to offer especially because it's close to other places as many coastal it is suffering a bit I would also say if you don't like steps or extremely steep hills even in the town centre then it may not be for you.

Lovely central location with something for everyone.
Lovely central location with something for everyone.
Lovely walks as a whole family.
A good range of shops, restaurants, pubs and bars.
Canterbury was 20-30 minute drive away which was lovely as we went on a boat tour and saw the stunning cathedral.
We were able to get to mist places on foot and there was a lot to do.
Parks, beach, harbor arm, cinema, shops and lots of lovely sights.
We had a lovely Greek dinner on the harbor arm, however, it was quite expensive. We had a chicken gyros, a lamb one, a chicken gyros bowl, chips and some hummus with pitta and it was £60.
I liked the location of the hotel
The other reviews was complaining but I will say for the cost it’s reasonable, if you’re looking for just sleep, it’s suitable, clean bedding, room clean, many clean towels, coffees teas kettle, tv , hot water
Only fridge not available and the bathroom lock broken
If you stay next to a noisy family etc unfortunately it’s very loud, you can hear everything
Overall for us we were comfortable and we’re thinking to go again
Wonderful beachside location, nicely decorated & new facilities, full working kitchen, great views, very spacious flat. Lovely little touches i.e. choice of books, games, intro to area, blankets, cushions. Good amount of cleaning products in kitchen. One of best places we've stayed in Folkestone. To flag there are several flights of stairs and no lift so not one if you're less mobile or elderly who may struggle with getting heavier bags up there.
As I have a mobility scooter we were relocated to a ground floor room. This, for obvious reasons, was not the executive room for which I had paid. Also, we did not get the continental breakfast for which I had paid, at £6 per person per night. So, I reckon we are due a partial refund. I have to say, however, that John was superb and a credit to the hotel. He helped me get my scooter in and out of the hotel, as all entrances had steps.
My room had a bay window, lots of light and plenty of space.
The rooms in the hotel were open and inviting too.
The owner is very organised and good at explaining the where and how of the hotel and what was nearby.
It was a short walk into town and the main shops and supermarkets yet far enough away from it to be quiet and residential
Nice food for breakfast - lots f information about ingredients and so on.
I ve been ill as the winds gave me a cold . I stocked up a healthy drink supply from Holland n barret and felt lookingvat thd cafe area the soft drinks looked like a sugar haven..just knaff and cheap..better to hve sparkling water for sale and maybe offer a cordial . The other extreme the restaurant is high ranking . Pls ask around who forgets the Dartford toll? I did..maybe a reminder card at reception?
This charming hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Folkestone harbour, making it an ideal choice for those seeking seaside adventures. The hotel is pet-friendly, with an additional supplement of £20 for furry companions. While guests can enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel's bar downstairs, it's unfortunate that dogs are not permitted in that area
People complain about this hotel all the time.
I don't know what they expect..! I've had better and more personal treatment than 5 star hotels that I have stayed in. There are always people who expect more than they get...but this hotel is one of the cheapest hotels in the region and, for me, they exceed expectations...they go above and beyond their low budget price...
The hotel is situated above the seaside with an excellent view. Walking distance to the centre about 10 minutes. The rooms are very nicely decorated with plenty of space and a bathroom with a shower. The hotel offers an a la carte restaurant. I had dinner and Afternoon Tea which both were excellent.
An excellent hotel for an overnight stay enroute to an early Eurotunnel crossing. Great location with easy access to Folkestone sea front, comfortable room, spotlessly clean. A great value alternative to many that we looked at. The local Bouverie Tap pub did excellent food and drinks.
Good hotel located near the cliffs/beaches of Folkestone. About a 20 minute walk along the coastal promenade to the town centre. Comfortable bed and rooms, good shower. Used as an overnight stop before onward travel by ferry from Dover to France.
You're only meters away from the Eurotunnel and the A20, yet you'd think you were deep in the beautiful Kent countryside. And to think in the past we'd drive into Folkestone for the night before a morning crossing to France. Never again...
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is very well located for access to the Channel Tunnel. The harbour area of Folkestone is attractive and worth a visit and about 10-15 minutes drive from the hotel.
This hotel was a lovely find & perfectly located to visit Folkestone (which we'd never visited before - wish we had been there longer?) The restaurant was excellent & the staff very friendly & helpful - we will be back!
Nice place to stay, our room looked over the channel in a quiet, residential part of Folkestone. The hotel has a lift. Bedding was v comfortable, and a good shower too. Good bar & restaurant on site, friendly staff.
