A beautiful cottage, fully equipped and great for an overnight stay before a day at Alton towers. A 2 minute drive. The owners clearly have put a lot of thought into the needs of their guest. Would definitely return.

Warm welcome from the staff of this lovely hotel that has great views of the countryside. If you play golf there's the added bonus of a round of golf included in the stay (though I think you may have to have a golf handicap)
The inclusive breakfast was excellent. I'd happily stay there again.

Spending 2 nights at Alton towers would be more suitable as you are exhausted from walking around the park all day. When we go again, we will travel up the night before our first day park visit. Loved the hotel, it was definitely worth the experience. We had booked the explorer room with a double bed and bunk beds for the children. It was a basic room considering what they have on offer but it was also the cheapest yet still gave the children a great experience. The room is an explorer theme throughout from the carpet, bedspread to the lighting. If you are travelling I would recommend going for 2 nights to get the most out of the experience. By staying at the hotel on resort, you get entrance to the park from 09:30am which means you can walk to the rides and get to the front of the rides before the park opens at 10am rush hour! Try not to go when schools have their last day as they tend to go to Alton towers for an end of year school trip and the park gets extremely busy.

When went there it was on a Tuesday in September.
When went there it was on a Tuesday in September. And the Q times at most were 20 mins. So we managed to get on everything we wanted sometimes more than once. But my gripe is that we paid the full price yet not every ride was open both 13 and Spinball were both closed when when I asked a member of staff why this was he said that because the park were expecting a quiet day they made the decision to not open certain rides really if you've paid the full price ALL rides should be running.
What I didn't understand is that Alton Towers have brought in what looks like 2nd hand rides of the kind you would see at a travelling fair and just dotted them around the park were they look out of place and in my opinion cheap. These rides were running but the more famous rides eg 13 were shut.
Final point PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do something with Nemesis either give it a face-lift or put the poor thing out to pasture...the ride is still one of the best in the park but it is looking tired and unloved with bits falling off the poor Alien.

Amazing theme park .. fantastic rides, lovely grounds and couldn't fault it at all ... would recommend fast track as with so many queue's there wouldn't have been enough time to do all the rides!!

The staff were always so happy to help and really attentive.
The staff were always so happy to help and really attentive.
However, our room had dust everywhere. Our bed was covered in it and the floor had not been hoovered from the previous guests. Two of our pillows had stains on them, one of which was an OLD blood stain. We left our pillows for the cleaner to replace (stain side showing!), however, the pillows were turned over and put back on the bed so that the stains could not be seen. I then took the pillows to reception myself and asked for new ones to be given to me. They were given and I was pleased.
We ate in the secret garden restaurant on Sunday and Monday for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was fine. Sunday evening, the waitress was lovely, attentive and really speedy (which was good as we were hungry!). Monday evening, after a long day, the waiter took over 30 minutes to even acknowledge that we were sat at the table, which we had been placed at by another waitress, and then took our drinks shortly after the 30 minute wait. We ordered drinks and food at this point as we were hungry. The waiter mentioned many times that our drinks were coming, however after another long wait of 20 minutes, our food arrived at our table before our drinks. The drinks then arrived another 10 minutes later.
When we received our food, we asked for some sauces which the waiter said he could get for us. This did not happen and he proceeded to take someone else their bill, another tables order and their drinks. By now, the food was cold and so I went to the kitchen to ask the staff for some sauces myself. I was not impressed.
I know the waiter explained that he does not normally work in the restaurant, but this was not the experience I was expecting.
I paid over £550 for a stay in this hotel, and I am truly disappointed. This should be at least half the price for the standard of this hotel.

Alton Towers Scarefest was amazing.
Alton Towers Scarefest was amazing. We found our way around the park easily, although hard work around the main park with 2 pushchairs.... We ate at the Pizza & Pasta restaurant, food was reasonable, good value as it included drinks and ice creams (our children at for free). Splash Landings water Park is definitely worth a visit, especially on a rainy day.
Check in and out was smooth and easy. We checked out early to be first in line at Alton towers. We left our key in the room as instructed… it was that simple. In the evening we wakes to the shop and the pub just around the corner. Everything is super close.
It was exceptionally clean. We only seen one other small group who were friendly.
Not what I expected for a Hostel. We are 2 friends age 33 with young 3 children between us 2 of them under 2! There was enough space in our room for our travel cribs also.
Actually this White Hart is located outside of Alton proper in a different county....approximately 2 hours outside of Alton.
We walked, with our luggage, to the The White Hart in Alton, Holybourne Hampshire county...where we expected to be located. When arrived at this White Hart we did not have a reservation and I called the White Hart @ 44-7359-315043 shown on my confirmation #3309455938 and discovered the problem. While they were understanding, unable to cancel and I as well was unable to cancel.
We stayed here as a family with 2 adults and 6 children ages 2 -14years. There was more than enough space for all of us to stay here comfortably and not be on top of each other. Cottage was lovely and clean when we arrived and was in a fantastic location for our trip to Alton towers. (We don't drive so this was important for us.) It is literally right around the corner. Sarah (the host) was really lovely and we had great communication from her throughout our stay. We would definitely stay here again.
The property is stunning, in a great location for getting around. It’s not far from Alton Towers if you’re planning a trip there. We did steam train ride in churnet valley so this location was ideal.
The house is well equipped to cook for yourselves if you wanted. It’s sleeps 6 comfortably and is immaculately clean.
Gill the owner is lovely and can’t do enough to help you with advice and getting you settled in. I would stay here again without question.
Beautiful guest house finished and cleaned to an exceptional standard. Anita and Mick were welcoming and attentive hosts. We particularly enjoyed the easter treats, toybox for my son, and the opportunity to watch many birds outside the window while eating a delicious breakfast. Really great place to stay for Alton Towers.
The hotel was very hard to find. As our satnav sent us the wrong way. And it was hard to get hold of staff, but we were two hours later then we were meant to be so very understandable. Once we got hold of staff they were amazing. Very welcoming and helpful
It was so close
To
Alton towers which was great.
High standard yet homely. Everything you might need was there including dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer etc. Super comfy beds. Direct number if any problem (we didn’t have any hot water and it was sorted within 1/2 hour). Very close to Alton Towers.
The lady that runs the place is lovely and the service was excellent - the location is fantastic for Alton towers and v easy to find and plenty of parking. Bed was comfy and the room had plenty of space and storage. We loved it!
Clean, comfortable property. Perfect for our needs on a trip to Alton Towers! Quirky layout and love the wooden beams - worth noting one of the bedrooms can only be accessed through the bathroom.
Location was excellent for a busy to Alton towers. Couldn’t get closer even if you used the Alton towers car park. Lovely pubs nearby for lunch too. Lovely treats left for us by the host also!
Beautiful little cottage with lovely views from the patio and perfect location for a trip to Alton Towers! Really hope we get a chance to come and stay again before too long.
