Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact.
Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact. The main thoroughfare is wide and attractive with lots of shops, all very well kept. There was a market just packing up when I arrived in early afternoon. There is a beautiful Albrecht Dürer window in the church, which is well worth visiting. The Main Street, Theresienplatz, has several street Cafés or restaurants. Hotel Gaubodenhof had a large out-door eating area on Theresienplatz.

I booked apartment with terace,got tiny rat hole upstairs with tiny windows,was +32 c....drunk noisy people around ...knocked at my door at night...plates and cups were dirty...bed was full of ketchup...and no receptionist....no one is to talk... Horible, nasty ,dirty place....Tatjana DubravaLatvia

Altough making the mistake to not book the breakfast i did paid upon arrival to add it. It is by FAR the most tasty breakfast i've ate in a hotel. Choices for everyone. Spa or Wellness Section of the hotel was great and so were the massages I booked. It would be foolish to no mention the Staff, they are friendly, polite and go above and beyond to facilitate your stay. They were flexible enough to let me check out later due to my schedule.

As a frequent traveller I have seen thousands of superior to extraordinary hotels and stayed in most of them on a global scale. Asam did not ring a bell during booking but it certainly will in the future: professional team with that natural kind of friendliness all over the place. Location is easy to reach, the property itsself a mixed style arrangement from traditional to ultramodern. An unexpected pearl which made my day!

We were a couple, but the main bedroom contained 2 king size beds. There is a second bedroom and sofa beds in the lounge.Everything was clean and tidy. Location is about 10 minute walk from an attractive traffic free town centre. With a car, the centre parking is expensive. Straubing is a convenient centre for access to the glass making industry, Regensburg and Passau etc.

Right in the centre of town, nicely equipped. Easy parking for a reasonable €9 extra with plenty of exit tickets provided. Chocolates and small bubbly waiting for us on arrival.
