I just loved Oakland!the city has a bad reputation and that is farthest from the truth!first of all,EVERY city has a bad part of town where crime occurs maybe more than other parts of the city! I talked with dozens of people from there who were very personable;helpful; friendly everyone was awesome!!loved Oakland!!

We like to see shows at the Fox Theater, and when we do, we stay at the Moxy hotel and walk there. There are several great eateries in the neighborhood. I recommend HotBird if you like fried chicken! We have never felt unsafe walking this neighborhood. There are a lot of homeless people, which is sad to see.

Oakland is a unique diverse town full of so many different types of cool cultures. I like the culture from The East, West and the North because each area has a different flavor or style to add to the town. There is one thing that bothers me. The homeless crisis is excessive. Affordable housing especially to born and raised in Oakland individuals are housed after out of towers. The majority of Oakland's employers are not even from Oakland. It would be nice to allow Oakland to return to Oakland and allow only Oakland to accommodate it's visitors instead of our visitors becoming our hosts in our own Town and selling our products back to us, ITS A STEAL before our eyes .

Oakland has a high population of homeless people I wasn't aware of. Some areas were better than other but every where you looked was broke down cars with broken widows and tagged on, along with trash everywhere, homeless people and tagging everywhere .
Maybe it's just the area I ended up at, hoping there's more than what I seen.!!!

I think West coast cities are damaged goods at this point.
I think West coast cities are damaged goods at this point.
I will not recommend San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Portland, Seattle nor Vancouver.
These places used to have terrific live music, comedy, food, safe walkable neighborhoods and scenery at prices that were justified but the homelessness, filth, gunfire and in-your-face politics make it less enjoyable.
I would sooner go to a smaller city like Salt Lake, Cleveland, Tacoma, Richmond now. Some of those places have some of the same challenges but the prices will be lower and you can enjoy yourself without as much filth and less political distraction.
I was very disappointed that when we arrived this hotel had been closed for two years
this caused stress and anxiety for myself and my Austistic grand daughter. we were left stranded having to find alternative accommodation at more money which I had not budgeted for
I have tried to call several times ti discuss this but cannot get through
could you please call me on 07757306695 to discuss and to confirm my other booking I have in June exists as I have lost my faith in booking.com
many thanks
I've stayed here in the past month and received a room with a view of the Oakland span of the bay bridge which was cool given that the hotel is pretty deep into downtown Oakland.
The staff are pretty chill. and the vibe in the lobby is what you would expect at a neighborhood bar not a hotel.
The staff dress in plain clothes so it's hard to tell if someone works there but it makes for a very relaxed check in experience.
Don't expect the formalities of brand name hotels.
Location: 5 minute walk to bus stop
Cleanliness: unmatched! That includes the room and the common areas
Bed: comfortable with 4 pillows per bed, all with differing firmness. Nice sheets and blankets
Staff: friendly and helpful. Arranged Uber for us from and to the airport. Smooth and courteous check-in and check out.
Filtered water station available on all floors to refill our containers
The only good parts are it's close to the BART Metro subway station "Lake Merritt" and you can transfer from OAKLAND int'l airport to here by only spending around 7.5USD and also there are many charging outlets available for use in the motel, and it costs less than 100 USD a night with taxes included!
The restaurant on site had great meals. We ate there for dinner and then grabbed breakfast the next morning. The room was comfortable and quiet. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and nice. The shuttle bus from the Oakland airport was on time for both to and from the airport.
Availability was convenient. Location was perfect for everywhere I needed to go. Reasonable pricing. Awesome friendly staff. Lot parking and very clean rooms and the hotel itself was well maintained.(except the elevator lol they fixed it) Everything smelled clean and fresh.
This is the second time we have stayed here…both times for concerts in the Oakland/Berkeley area. This hotel is on such a convenient location. Walkable from the Bart Station and right next to the SFO ferry. Our room faced the ferry terminal with a beautiful view and lanai.
Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was helpful and always present. Location was a shock but for this visit was ok. Although we never went in, breakfast looked and smelled great. Would have appreciated coffee in lobby 24/7 like most hotels.
I loved the king size double beds in the room. The view from my hotel room was spectacular. I loved the 24/7 shuttle service to the airport. The driver was quick and efficient. The food at the restaurant downstairs was good as well.
Breakfast was excellent and staff was nice and helpful. I especially liked that they had a complimentary shuttle running 24/7 between a hotel and the airport & BART station. Overall great location and service at this hotel!
The hotel is conveniently located to the downtown Oakland BART station and is a good alternative to the Marriott. My room was on the fourth floor, which minimized the street noise.
Nice hotel, great service! The bed are so comfortable I had a wonderful rest. Everything was clean and no noise. Very close to the airport and they have a free shuttle.
In centre of Oakland close to BART for travel purposes, staff were good esp Thomas the night porter - who sorted me some food due to a late arrival at the hotel .
I liked everything about the Oakland Downtown AC Hotel by Marriott. It’s a great location if you have are seeing a show at the Fox, it’s elegant and clean.
