We booked a last minute overnight stay in Argostoli after travelling around the island from our base in Skala. The room was huge, spotless and very comfy. A massive shower with good water pressure and tea/coffee making facilities were an added bonus, recommend!
The seaside Tourist Hotel offers air-conditioned and soundproofed rooms. Most units boast views of the sea and Argostoli pebble beach, where Caretta Caretta sea turtles return yearly to nest.

Spartia is very small, with a couple of mini markets, a coffee bar and a taverna. It's a great location if you like walking in the countryside, and access by car to a choice of beaches and to Argostoli town (and the airport) is quick and easy.

We loved Spartia, lovely a Greek village and everyone was really welcoming and helpful.
You definitely need a car to get around.
The beach was beautiful but too far for us to walk to in the heat.
We are in Cavo Liakos one evening and it was lovely and a very welcoming host Katerina.
The mini markets have a great selection of goods you might need.

Spartia is just like the other villages of Kefalonia.
Spartia is just like the other villages of Kefalonia. Spread on a hill that ends in a beach, at the shore of the sea, it is not a destination for party seekers, though! Nor is Kefalonia for what I have gathered!
But here, the people, the genuine Greek atmosphere, the silence, the birds, the goats, the wind, offer and create long-life memories.
If you want to get out of your room and reach the beach in a second, this is not the place for you. Here, you obviously need a car to find the greatest beaches around the island and Spartia, beeing located in the South of it, allows you to take different directions , to its left or to its right, or even above it, to Assos or Agia Efimia. We didn't dare go further, as it would have taken us more of an hour's drive...
To sum up, Kefalonia and Spartia, in particular, are great destinations for those who seek the true spirit of Greece, who seek peace, who seek great nature, good wine and the right space that invites to either spending quality time with family or friends, or to reading a good book! Enjoy!!!

I liked Spartia. Villa was a short walk to village centre.
I liked Spartia. Villa was a short walk to village centre. It was near Argostolin and lots of beaches and sites and most of the places one would want to visit without being too touristic or on the flip side too far or inaccessible. Having visited most of the island I would definitely recommend this area. You do need a rental car as there are not a couple of busses a day

Lovely traditional Greek village.
Lovely traditional Greek village. No bus service so if you wanted to see the island you needed to hire a car. Lovely restaurant within walking distance Cavos Liakos. Lovely food and friendly staff. Small supermarket for essentials.
Such friendly staff!! Nana, at reception had upgraded our room upon arrival which was so nice and the amenities were great. The property has a restaurant which has fish, chicken, salads, omelettes and even a coffee bar! They also have a breakfast buffet for 10 Euros per person which includes; coffee, juice, breads, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, yogurt etc. We would totally stay here again!! Absolutely loved it, Spartia beach is right outside of the parking lot which is awesome when you want to stay local and not travel to a different beach!
Cute Studios were ideal for us. We'd wanted a quiet location, within walking distance to a beach close to village facilities near to a Taverna and this is EXACTLY what we got...... All Was Superb. Thank you.
Our hosts were warm, welcoming, kind and so helpful. Nothing was too much. Not only did they arrange our car hire, but they also invited us to remain in our apartment until our leaving time, which meant we were able to spend another day on the beach and to have showers before we left. The supply of clean towels was endless.
Dimitris was a fantastic host - he was there to greet us when we arrived at the property late in the evening, there was moussaka (his kind wife had made) on a plate in the oven, fresh fruit, olive oil, wine, cake, drinks and an array of goodies. The view out to the sea and boats from the veranda is wonderful and it is a calm place to spend an evening. It's a lovely spot not spoilt by tourism. The beach, although small and busy was plenty big enough - we particularly loved spending hours swimming in the warm water.
Nana, the owner of Panas Hotel, was extremely friendly & helpful. She welcomed us with a warm smile and gave us something extra as we were celebrating my Husband's birthday. Nana also shared recommendations of what to do and see around Kefalonia.
Panas Hotel is located right down south of Kefalonia and has an amazing view of Klimatsias Beach (which is a stone throw away from the hotel).
We had dinner 1 night at Panas Hotel and the food, drinks & service was splendid.
Lovely location. Very quiet and rural but with some walkable beaches (Avithos is highly recommended.. 25 minute walk)
Staff were extremely accommodating and worked really hard all day, it was evident how passionate they are about the place.
The pool area is huge and not at all busy. The children were safe.
Evenings were lovely, with the restaurant and facilities such as table football and ping pong
We loved our stay and would definitely stay again
The views from the villa are stunning! The pool and outdoor areas are beautiful, comfortable and quiet. There was a bottle of water and a bottle of wine awaiting us upon arrival. Spartia Beach, Waterway Cafe and two mini markets are just short drive away. There was a small cooler and a beach umbrella in the villa which came in very handy when visting the beach.
We had a wonderful experience at the property in Spartia. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, which immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease. The hosts Polymnia and Dimitris couldn’t have been more attentive and were very knowledgeable about the area.
Our Stay Was Perfect. The Villa had everything we needed, the Pool was beautiful and also the sorroundings. A wonderful beach 2 Minutes from the villa, a small Village with shopping facilities, Cafés and Restaurant 5 Minutes from us.
Very welcoming host lovely family, loved the swimming pool ,rooms cleaned daily, air conditioning very good in room ,very quiet location would need a car ,convenient location for Beaches ,and larger resorts ,
The villa is very beautiful with a fantastic swimming pool. You have very good restaurants around the place. Many little beaches nearby with fantastic sand and super clear water.
Location was perfect for nipping into the village for groceries and refreshments. beach slightly further away down a steep incline but more than manage able.
