The hotel is close to town and also had a nice buffet breakfast. They left us chocolates and a note on the bed as we were celebrating our anniversary which was nice.

It was very clean and the people were very welcoming. I contacted the hotel a few days before as we were going to see a show at the New Theatre Oxford and asked if we could arrive early (2hrs before checkin) and leave our car there. They were very helpful and said it wouldn't be a problem.

It was in an ideal location on a bus route with onsite parking. The showers were hot, the beds were clean and comfortable and the rooms were soundproof. No food available onsite but plenty of places to eat nearby and a small Tesco and a small Sainsbury’s opposite.

Boasting magnificent academic heritage, Oxford is a beautiful city where Gothic spires intermingle with medieval colleges. Comprising England’s oldest university, most of the 38 unique colleges are sadly only viewable from the outside. Two visitable ones are Magdalen College, considered one of the most beautiful, and Christchurch College whose quadrangle was used in the 1st Harry Potter film. Its cathedral choir also sings evensong.
Other notable colleges are Balliol and Merton, the 2 oldest, while Hertford College has the Bridge of Sighs. Next door is the cavernous Bodleian Library, overlooking the round Radcliffe Camera, the city’s best-known landmark.
The university also has a botanical garden and the best Oxford museums, including the Ashmolean Museum and Natural History Museum, where swifts nest in summer.
Unsurprisingly for a student town, it has lots of bars and restaurants. Oxford shopping is also good and includes England’s oldest covered market, brightly coloured High Street shops, and the Clarendon and Westgate shopping centres.
Whether you arrive by road or fly into London Oxford Airport, don’t leave without trying Oxford punting. In contrast to rival Cambridge, you punt here by standing in the front (rather than on the back). Easily accessed from the Oxford accommodation on Booking.com, the routes take in the River Cherwell and the Isis (the name for this part of the Thames).

Oxford is a very nice, clean place with a very pleasant ambience, and historic significance. Commuting with public transport is a pleasure, though we missed an equivalent of the 49 Euro ticket in Germany. The city presents buildings of tasteful architecture, free museums of high educational value and enough options for leisure as well.

Christchurch college is a must-visit place.
Christchurch college is a must-visit place. The walk along the banks of the Thames from Kennington to Oxford is quite lovely. The city is very walkable, with much of historical interest. The contrast of the very old buildings and the vitality of the university vibe is great! Busses are everywhere in that old town - very user-friendly public transit.

Oxford is a fabulous destination.
Oxford is a fabulous destination. It has stunning architecture (even if you don't like architecture!) A vibrant social life. Speed limits in many areas make it a safe place to wander. Transport options are excellent. There is a calmness to the city which is charming. Lots of open spaces to relax in, meet friends and enjoy nature.

The Ashmolean museum is a must in Oxford and you need to allow at least a half day to see it. The historic buildings at every turn are delightful and visiting some of the colleges is very worthwhile. Our favourite that we went to was Balliol. We were disappointed with Magdalen college which had large grounds but not much access to the buildings. We were staying out on the Banbury road and ate one night at Mamma Mia pizzeria which was excellent and they accommodated our vegan and garlic allergy very well. You need to book as it gets very busy, even on week days. We bought day passes for the 3 main bus companies which were very good value.

We had a two day trip which was perfect.
We had a two day trip which was perfect. There isn’t a lot to see or do.
You need to have a walking tour to see the colleges and learn history. You can book to go inside a number of the buildings. The botanical garden is a lovely visit. A river trip is a good experience.
There are some very good English pubs in the city and surrounding areas worth a visit.
Blenheim Palace is worth a visit but is 30 minutes away.
It’s not a shopping city.

I liked being outside teh city centre - with Oxford you need to be right in the city (often expensive) or right out. In summer the tourist crowds can be oppressive outside teh colleges, so it's nice to hve a peaceful place to come back to.
Tripadviser has great recommendations.
The hotel was exceptional some would say old fashioned service. Staff friendly and courteous very helpful . The room and the whole of the hotel immaculate. The food was also well cooked , well presented and the staff could not have been more helpful, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we wanted.
The hotel is easy to find with parking right outside.
The hotel is situated 15 minutes walk from the centre of Oxford. We will return and will without doubt stay at the Cotswold Lodge.
The hotel was exactly as advertised. Having never been to Oxford, I had earmarked this hotel years ago as somewhere to stay when I visited, so I had high expectations. We ate downstairs in the bar/ restaurant and were delighted with quality and quantity of food for price… interactions with all staff was also excellent.
The large roll top bath for two was a highlight. Indeed, we even got up early to bathe with our Nespresso coffees! A wonderful stay, thank you.
great location. car park 5 mins from hotel. staff very welcoming and friendly. rooms excellent size and very clean and comfortable. bathroom was large and had been recently refurbished.good shower quite powerful. No breakfast included but there is a cafe connected to hotel . 10 minute walk to city centre. there is a massive shopping mall just down the road with amazing high quality clothing stores.we will come back to Oxford and this hotel.great place to visit.
The gentleman who checked us in was great. We felt really welcome. The room was very nice, comfortable, clean, and well stocked. The hotel itself was an attractive property. The dinner we had our first night was excellent and the service was good, if a little slow. We liked the fact that we were allowed to keep our car in their parking lot for free after checkout so that we had more time to tour Oxford.
You can't beat the location. The hotel is located not further than 200 mts from the bus station and on a walking distance from the train station and every amenity in Oxford.
The personnel were extremely nice and accommodating. They kept our bags safely while we were out before our check-in and even after the check-out. The bathroom and linens were also very clean.
The hotel is well appointed, set in a lovely position. Transport by bus into Oxford city centre is convenient. The room was very comfortable. All hotel staff were friendly & helpful & both breakfast & dinner were good. There is an attractive pool suite, which we had virtually to ourselves. We would definitively stay again if in the area.
Nice location, clean room and bed comfortable. The buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. We were visiting Oxford Uni and it was perfectly placed for a short taxi run into the city centre which the very friendly hotel staff arranged for us.
This was bay far the best hotel to stay at for being in the center of Oxford but also in a small, picturesque setting. The hotel has all the facilities you could want, excellent breakfast, rooftop garden seating, nice rooms, it’s expensive but worth it.
Very clean and nice hotel located just across the bus stop and plenty buses of from Oxford city Centre.
Room size was ideal for 3 people and facilities were good. Bathroom with towels and toiletries.
Tea and Coffee provided.
Location 10 minutes walking distance to Oxford City Centre
Owners of the hotel was lovely, very helpful
The hotel room was basic but had all the essentials and was spotless.
I would 100% book again if staying in Oxford.
The hotel was beautifully British with updated yet old world finishes, comfort and charm. The room was well appointed and the bed very comfortable. Exactly the experience I would expect in Oxford!
Great location within walking distance of center of Oxford. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast and staff.
Parking was good. Hotel public spaces very nice. Good value too.
Easy to access, very quick check in, friendly staff, close to amenities in Summertown and easy bus access to Oxford City Centre
For a cheap hotel the bed was really comfortable
