Loved the Historic Building and fittings and fixtures inside. Staff were exceptional - and very friendly - but we found this with everyone we spoke to in Merthyr Tydfil. Bed was great. Welsh Breakfast was very good too.

Definitely need a car to get around this area. Not quite the luxury I was looking for. Accomodation and breakfast where I stayed was fairly basic. Quite limited in eating out options too.
Managed to walk the Pen y Fan which was the highlight of my stay here.

Nice town with some lovely places to go for a drink and a bite to eat. Friendly bar with live music at the weekend. Also there is a Wetherspoon. The Zip World was only a 30 min drive away and is fantastic. Great scenery and walks near by.

Only stayed 2 days and then was at an event so not enough time to explore. However on an evening plenty of places to eat and drink. Tesco Extra and range of other shops incl. Saturday street market. Train and bus transport hub, and plenty of places to explore a short distance away.

Liked the fact it has good public transport links to the Brecon Beacons the town itself looks a bit run down in places like many these days but had everything we needed with lots of things to do nearby. We enjoyed climbing Corn Du, Pen Y Fan, visiting Lyn Cwm Llwch, walking along parts of the Taff Trail, visiting The Brecon Mountain Railway, Cyfarthfa Castle and park as well as things further a field.

Centre -lovely trails and views.
Also the Brecon Beacons were within easy reach.
We ate at Nant Ddu the first night and shared 3 tasty side dishes between us.
Not too far from 3 near locations where my Dad was born and lived in Penwhriceiber, Cefn Pennar and Mountain Ash. Able to visit as near.
We had such a wonderful stay in Merthyr Tydfil at this holiday home. The location is ideal to visit local attractions which are in abundance. We traveled around this beautiful part of the world - the scenery is simply glorious. There is plenty of parking for up to three cars which helps if you are a larger group or family. The garden is really well maintained and the view from the garden is lovely. The property is well laid out with an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. There is also a separate lounge for those wanting to relax.
initially the rooms seemed quite small. on further inspection we found that they do have larger rooms but these were not available probably because we booked quite late. on reflection our room was just big enough for our requirements. the rooms are very clean, modern and well maintained. the owners really made our stay an amazing time, they were so friendly and professional and nothing was too much for them. the very best thing about the hotel was the food. breakfast was fantastic and dinner was equally good. we will return
All of the Staff were very friendly and lovely, and the food was so nice. The Welsh Breakfast was very tasty, used good quality local ingredients. We had Scallops to start which were cooked to perfection. My partner had the Cod which was so succulent and full of flavour with a good portion. I had the monkfish which was a little over and the portion of the overall dish was small for the price, but the taste was lush! We didnt use the pool area but it looked nice from outside!
Very homely cosy apartment, nicely situated next to the river and close to shops. Neil is fantastic, and really helpful. We stayed at Station House as we were visiting family in Merthyr Tydfil for Christmas. As well as off street parking, you also have access to a garage, so I imagine this would be a really great property if your visiting Bike Park Wales and it’s also very close to the Taff Trail. Great stay and will definitely return next time we are visiting family.
Excellent hosts sharing plenty of tips for hikes in this area and also other parts of Wales (Gower and St Davids). They also suggested the Big Pit National Coal museum, which I found a must-do to understand the industrial history of the area.
Excellent breakfast, lots of choice.
Comfortable bed and room. Very clean.
Also had a UK adapter in the room for charging devices (in case you'd forgotten it or wanted to charge multiple).
Parking on the premises.
I stayed in the Bee Hive MT flat with my two boys during a trip to Bike Park Wales. Outstanding accommodation and service from Mark, who met us to hand over the keys and show us around the flat. We arrived late and he provided advice on where to eat and called ahead to one place which was very kind of him. The washer and dryer are excellent, the apartment is spacious and clean, there is off street parking and the location is bang in town. 5 stars!
A quirky place to stay, well thought out for a holiday home. Hot tub was a good addition, and the outside space is nice. Location is convenient for getting to Brecon and Bikepark Wales. Secure shed for bikes. The fish and chip shop round the corner is very good. Owner was friendly and available. Property was clean. I would definitely stay again.
This is a fantastic property to stay in. We loved the quirkiness, the games room was fantastic, the outdoor area was lovely, the beds were super comfy and the quality of the linen and towels equal to a hotel stay, plus dogs are welcome. Finally the home grown honey from the owners bees was a beautiful touch. We will definitely return.
excellent clean modern rooms with everything you might need. The staff were more than welcoming and were very accomodating to some problems we had. Lovely area and close to the places we needed including bike park Wales. Plenty of places to eat around the area, we very much enjoyed our stay.
Very friendly host. The property seemed fairly newly converted and had good security. Parking was good and facilities to wash bikes. All very clean and tidy - also in a quiet area so peaceful at night. Very close to bike park Wales and not far from Merthyr town centre (4 miles).
Ideal place to stay while working in the area. Everything needed for cooking. Big washer/dryer was really useful.
Covered area outside back door was good.
We will be glad to stay again next time we are in the area.
Absolutely amazing , by far the best hotel/-airB and B I have ever stayed in. The hosts are brilliant and have made sure that everything you need and more is in the accommodation.
Amazing hosts, really friendly, great location (we was there for bike park Wales, 10 minutes away) couldn't of asked for anything else. 10 out of 10 and we 100% be booking again.
Ideal place to stay. Clean room with smart TV and great to have the shared kitchen to be able to prepare food.
Will definitely stay again next time we have work in the area.
