Not much. Out dated decor, no elevator, it was like a rabbit warren.

The older part of Kings Lynn down by the river is well worth a visit. Its full of historic buildings and alleyways. Fooderies are plentiful and offer varied cuisines. Particularly good is the ‘Tipsy Teapot’ with its Tex-Mex style menu. Prices are reasonable.
Regrettably it rained for most of our stay which meant we were unable to visit some of the places we wanted to. Not Kings Lynn's fault. We’ll be back!

Kings Lynn is a town of 2 halves.
Kings Lynn is a town of 2 halves. The modern commercial part is in a sad state at the moment, with the closue of so many shops in recent years, including the huge Debenhams. Regeneration plans are in hand but may take years to be completed.
Look past this though and the old part of town is a medieval gem! If you love history and architecture then you're in for a pleasant surprise. There are 3 museums telling the story of the town (all with very modest admission prices), and you can wander at leisure down streets full of half-rimberd 14th and 15th century dwellings, some with later Georgian frontages. There is also the iconic 17th century Custom House which is worth a quick visit.
When you're done with all that there are plenty of lovely cafes for a spot of lunch - try The Filling Station or Norfolk Bakery for delicious homemade cakes.

Kings Lynn has a poor reputation but we were blown away by the quite extensive historic quarter. Absolutely stunning with so many beautiful old buildings and a rich maritime history. The Hansa house next to the Minster has been faithfully preserved and contains an atmospheric tea room. While it's definitely possible to do old Kings Lynn in a day I would recommend taking a bit more time to really absorb the many things that attract attention as you wander round. A wander round the Walks is also recommended - lovely green space in the centre of town with several historic buildings. All in all, Lynn was a very pleasant surprise.

We were able to walk along the river front and visit the town centre. We visited Trues Yard Fisherfolk museum which was really interesting. Every street in old town had interesting architecture and historic features.

A great place to explore on foot with the beautiful Minster right in the centre, and exceptionally clean pedestrian-friendly streets. Huntstanton, with its gorgeous beaches, is only an hour away by bus. Food options are more limited than you'd get in a big city, but the places we tried (Mem's Kitchen, Bank House) were all very good.

Huge amount of history packed into a small area, easily covered on foot. Beautiful waterfront, old buildings, well signposted. Excellent museums three, and all very different. Plenty of good eating places. Cobbles teashop a delight. Plenty of parking in town centre. Good selection of shops on high street. Very good bus services to surrounding areas.
The hotel was above expectations - as it was one of very few places left with vacancies in West Norfolk. Staff went out of their way to help and showed some flexibility, the room was really good with everything you need and the bed really comfortable. Breakfast was good (though always prefer if it's included in the price, it was still reasonable). Dinner choices were limited basically to bar fare and Kings Lynn generally has a limited offer for fine dining. But it was fine and we were both tired and hungry after our walking.
The Old rectory is an elegant looking property located on a quiet road 15mins walk through a park from the centre of Kings Lynn. We had room 3 which was quite small and located in the basement of the property with a window looking out onto the steps down to the lower rooms. The entire room and public areas were kept very clean and well decorated. The full english breakfast was freshly cooked and very good. There was easy onsite parking. The staff we met were all lovely.
location is good for access to Kings Lynn and surrounding areas
breakfast was satisfactory
due to lack of any decent eateries in Kings Lyn or the hotel, we enjoyed a picnic on 2nd night on the large lawned area of the hotel
we did not suffer any noise from nearby main roads even with windows open
parking nearby is at a premium but the free parking onsite met the necessity, although the booking system was a little disconcerting
Lovely hotel in central Kings Lynn. Highly recommended.
It's located at the corner of a picturesque market square, and serves as an excellent location to explore the town, with convenient parking. The accommodation is basic, but very good value, and the staff friendly and very helpful.
The hotel is just beside a busy Wetherspoons pub. There's no noise from this whatsoever, and it has a wide and inexpensive menu for dining in.
This was our first stay at The Russet House and we found excellent value for money, particularly with the facilities on offer. These included free parking, a spacious room that even had room for a comfortable sofa, and not forgetting the superb breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. Next time we are in King's Lynn, we will definitely make a booking at Russet House.
I loved the interior of the property ... the host were very helpful with the wifi issue I had ... the apartment was very clean and visually satisfying ... aswel as comfortable... perfect location on a minutes walk away from the town centre yet quiet enough to believe you were away from the hustle and bustle ... very satisfied with every aspect of my stay
Absolutely fab hotel in a lovely part of Kings Lynn, the lady on reception was a delight and really helpful when we were struggling to find suitable parking for our 2 night stay. Would not hesitate to book again if back in the area. The beer garden was huge and lovely in the sunshine. And it being a Wetherspoons was great...food and drink on tap :-)
A lovely hotel in an old building full of character in a perfect part of the town, right by the old docks. We had a very spacious room with oak beams and a nice private bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable, the food was great (we ate in the hotel on both the nights we were there) and the staff were helpful and friendly.
Superb location as quiet, but easy walk into town centre where there were many options for an evening meal, which is all that was needed after the outstanding breakfasts at The Lodge
Friendly helpful host and freedom to use our room as much as we needed to. Room clean comfortable and tastefully furnished.
Thank you Sue.
Our room - The Kings Room - was amazing and everything about it was beautiful, comfortable and impressive. All the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The location of Bank House is very convenient to all that historical Kings Lynn has to offer. We can definitely highly recommend this hotel.
The Hotel is down a small road that comes to an end at the hotel. While the hotel is not far from the centre, this means it is very quiet and there are no problems with parking. The bar itself was very quiet (not surprising given covid) and I only had a short walk to a nearby pub.
Breakfast was excellent all cooked to order and personal preference, perfect.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return to Kings Lynn just to have the pleasure of staying at Fairlight Lodge again. Would recommend anyone to stay there if visiting the area.
Perfect location. Close to the town centre and close to railway station. Hunstanton is a short drive away for people visiting the area. As we are from king's Lynn we just needed somewhere to stay for 2 nights whilst work was being carried out at our home.
We have stayed here before and it never fails to disappoint. Always a lovely welcome by the staff. Well equipped shop on site great pubs a short distance away as are supermarkets and Kings Lynn town centre within a short distance.
Good location for town centre. Staff exceptionally happy and chat and mostly tried to be helpful.
Restaurant in hotel was nice food and cocktails good.
The chap on afternoon reception was by far the most helpful one there.
Spacious room, lovely breakfast, welcoming owners and easy walking access to Kings Lynn’s historic centre and quay. Easy on- street parking near accommodation, good choice of restaurants and pubs in the town.
Location perfect. Close to town centre but quiet. Everything we wanted from an appartment. Would definatly use again when in Kings Lynn or surrounding area.
