although I was only there for a short time I enjoyed my stay. the town was close to my hotel and it was clean and tidy. there is plenty to do if you have children. I had a meal at the local chip shop which I believe was called geo on the main high ST. very good food and service. I visited some shops and the staff in the shops where in good spirits and helped the customers.

We just wanted a couple of quiet nights away,
For a family with young children who are on a budget it’s a good way to get away for a few days. Weather plays a big part but the beach isn’t bad, the pier and amusements can easily kill a rainy afternoon plenty of places to eat and drink Fairly cheap and basic seaside town but it’ll keep the kids happy

I think Clacton-on-Sea is a lovely town.
I think Clacton-on-Sea is a lovely town. The garden walk at the seafront is beautiful any time of the year; there are plenty of seats. There are loads of reasonable restaurants in Clacton and lots of activities for children. There is a very good Wetherspoon pub near the seafront. A good range of shops.

Clacton not too bad.
Clacton not too bad. But Jaywick where the caravan was is terrible, down and out people everywhere and run down properties. Fly tipping on the road to site.
We had two nights but only stayed one night as couldn’t wait to get home
Carol and Peter who ran the hotel were warm welcoming and so friendly. The rooms were spotless, best towels ever. Beds comfy. Tea and coffee also treats in the room. The breakfast was amazing, plentiful, fresh and yummy.
The young lady serving us again warm friendly and welcoming. The hotel was in the centre of everything and in all honesty the staff couldn't do enough for you. Hence, a lovely place to stay, if you visit clacton. I seriously couldn't fault this place. Highly recommend.
Staff were friendly and accommodating. Friendly atmosphere. Good sized hotel and nicely decorated.
The breakfast was nice and good portions especially the scrambled eggs and salmon combo.
Free parking for residents.
The location is great, peaceful and close yet still far enough from the hustle and bustle of Clacton pier city centre.
With a car, you can get to the shopping village/retail park within a short distance from the hotel.
Room was spacious with a Great sea view. Very clean and tidy.
Bathroom well spaced, large shower area.
Facilities excellent and all in good working order.
Hotel perfectly placed in Clacton with adequate car park.
Near by bus service excellent.
Breakfast very yummy and served hot.
Staff very friendly and always helpful.
All worked together for our Happy holiday.
The room was great, clean and comfortable and I had a good nights rest. The breakfast was excellent and the selection was very good. The breakfast arrived piping hot and well cooked and I was very pleased with the whole visit from checking in to checking out.

The lovely women that takes time to get to know people, their name, what they do, the kindness from this wonderful woman is why I will always use smugglers cove! I started staying here because of building works, I stay here for different reasons now but Clacton on sea, smugglers cove, u have a diamond working for you
A great place to stay to enjoy Clacton seafront it is minutes from beach and the pier. It is connected to a great restaurant called My Big Fat Greek Taverna. My only issue is that it’s right next to a Wetherspoons, so at night my partner and I could hear people talking and sometimes shouting until quite late.
Lovely caravan on the end so very peaceful lovely decking and such comfortable beds.
Really nice spacious bathrooms and a lovely seating area with fantastic size telly
Kevin was amazing and so friendly will definitely be returning just a short drive from clacton sea front and the outlets.
Fantastic place, huge choice of continental breakfast. Mini fridge fully stocked. Very clean and comfortable. Very quiet despite being right in the centre of clacton. Will definitely book again. My 7 year old said it was the best hotel ever and we use lots of hotel/bed and breakfast s.
Room was large and spacious, bed comfortable and clean. Only problem was the shower too small .Breakfast was brilliant and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The area was ok we found a restaurant nearby but on the whole found Clacton-On-Sea a bit tacky.
Fresh fruit, cereals, milk tea and coffee bread and jams all supplied in the room and topped up each day pleasant owners who are prepared to supply any local information required clean tidy and ample room and only 5 mins walk from seafront
I like the location, the staff were very kind and helpful. The facilities were spotless. Felt more like a hotel than a guest house a lot of care and attention goes into the running of this establishment. Really first class experience.
Location was just off the Clacton seafront, so walking out for dinner and to the beack, amusements etc was ideal. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast very good. Room very clean and in excellent order.
Very clean, good location and price. Breakfast absolutely fantastic with fresh made juices.
The most important, this is dog friendly hotel.
Very friendly and helpful owners. Will definitely come back again.
I actually liked the rustic feel of the hotel, but I can see how it wouldn’t be for everyone. It was incredibly close to pubs, the beach, restaurants, I loved that. The staff were friendly too.
Beautiful hotel in amazing location. Rooms were spacious and clean with super comfy beds. Delicious breakfast served by friendly and professional staff. Would definitely recommend.
