A lovely historic town with some tourist attractions within walking distance. We spent a day exploring the town and visited the model village, the motor museum and Birdland. There are many cafes and restaurants to choose from; in warmer weather it would be lovely to eat outside and enjoy the views of the river.

Food options are varied, good old English, Italian, fine dining and tapas. The village is beautiful with many old properties that are well maintained. Pubs are oldy worldly and very busy at weekends. Plenty of good coffee shops. Paid Parking is available at either end of the village if staying over 1 hour so no problem parking. Village parking is restricted. Walking options are all around and many locals are happy to oblige if you need directions.

Absolutely stunning, beautiful place full of character.
Absolutely stunning, beautiful place full of character. We visited slightly out of season so was not too busy. Smiths is an amazing restaurant, specialising in gourmet burgers, you will not be disappointed! Lots of other independent shops selling a range of crafts, antiques and much more.

Everything about this stay was amazing. The hosts were so attentive, friendly and kind. breakfast was perfect! And their two dogs were lovely. We also couldn’t of asked for a better location and PARKING! would 100% recommend this b&b to anyone looking for a few nights away right in the centre of Bourton on the water. They are also dog friendly and gave our Mimi lots of fuss! not everywhere accepts dogs so it was great that we could take her on holiday with us
the staff were amazing. they had just experienced a kitchen fire three weeks before our arrival so unfortunately the dining room was closed. they took great care of us and made breakfast arrangements at a nearby hotel. we could just imagine what the ambiance would have been had they been fully operational. would love to return just to see how they are making out. one if the nicest and warmest experiences we have had.
The house itself is perfect for a sociable stay with friends or family. Perfectly located just a short walk to the town centre it makes for a great base for exploring the surrounding area. We were staying at the venue as we were getting married in the Cotswolds and the hosts were kind enough to leave flowers for us upon our arrival. Everything thought of, very clean and comfortable, highly recommend!
Ideally placed in the centre Bourton on the Water. The car didn't leave the car park for the duration of the stay. It saves you looking for car parking and gives you time to visit Bourton's many attractions, as well as local riverside walks. Hotel staff very pleasant and knowledgeable about the area, and a wonderful breakfast to start the day.
Very cosy little bungalow. Ideal for winter visit. Lovely view from kitchen window. Location, perfect...in walking distance from main Bourton on the water main area and all its interesting places. Very good eateries, too. Dial Hotel for a bit of gourmet. Cheaper options. Many choices. The cotswold Arms in Burford Very good pub grub.
Excellent breakfast, short distance to local restaurants and Bourton on the Water centre, ideal location for discovering the Cotswolds, cleanliness of the whole of the Hotel the friendliness and support of the owners. The access to a well laid out garden where you could bush out in the open air after a days touring the area.
Excellent central location for both Bourton on the Water and the Cotswolds with the cottage well equipped, clean and with everything for a comfortable stay provided and included. The kitchen has everything needed with the the washing machine and drier in the laundry room along with good WiFi and tv system a welcome bonus.

Good location in lovely town of Bourton on the Water. Staff was very friendly, responsive to our needs and helpful. Special thanks to the chef who got up early to prepare take-away breakfast sandwiches -delicious and filling - an hour before scheduled breakfast service so that we could get an early start on hiking.
The room was clean and nicely decorated. The position very good (Bourton on the Water itself is great place to stay if you are visiting the Cotswolds area). Free parking. The hosts very lovely and they cooked us a delicious breakfast! Very happy, definitely good value for money! We will go back!
Location of the hotel was ideal being in the centre of the town. Car park attached to hotel a real bonus as Bourton on the Water is a tourist destination so difficult to find parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was very good.
We loved the old building and the cute smallish room in the attic. We had a gorgeous view over the town and the sun was shining in the room creating a wonderful light. The hotel is in the middle of the village and the restaurant is outstanding!
the service they were super nice and even better than in other 5 Star hotels we went. They offered to take our luggage up the stairs which didn't happen before in other 5 star hotels. Always with a smile and excellent service.
The location was very nice in a little Cotswold village in easy proximity of both Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water. Breakfast was good. There was a decent choice of cooked breakfast, and it was cooked to order.
Friendly staff. Comfortable room. Lovely food. Breakfast was cooked to order which was so much nicer than the usual buffet. The hotel was in the centre of the village which made it easier to walk around.
ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds - breakfast was very good at the Lansdowne next door - they also bring it round for you if you don’t want to leave the cottage which is such a good idea
Everything about the Chester House hotel was perfect. What a way to experience the magic of Bourton on the Water. The hotel is family run and they made us feel welcome and special.
