Fabulous location with great views across the lake from the Tavern bar and restaurant.
Very friendly welcome, we stayed in room 28, we decided not to pay extra for a lake view. The room was airy, spacious, clean with a comfortable bed and a well appointed good sized bathroom.
The Tavern bar has one cask ale on, kept well and surprisingly only £4 a pint.
The great choice on the dinner menu in the restaurant and excellent service.
Same at breakfast time with an additional ‘breakfast tray’ with additional choice of continental or cooked breakfast.
Pick off peak days and you can get a very good rate.

Bala lake itself is obviously the main attraction and that was well visited when we were there but there was plenty of car parking to access along with excellent options for access to the lake from various car parks on both sides of the lake. I stayed for one night during a three-day cycling tour.
I stayed for one night during a three-day cycling tour. Beautiful country around. White Lion Royal Hotel is a good place to stay, especially if you need an early start, as it serves breakfast early. It also serves excellent pub food - though the kitchen closed early this day, so I missed out. There are several other places to eat along the High Street, including pizza places and an Indian restaurant.

Disappointed of the town not a bit like we expected.Two nights we ate in a small Bistro just two doors from the hotel, the food was excellent and very friendly staff and service . It was called Cyfnod Cafe and Bistro.
