Incredible place to visit! We arrived here after Paris and I could have spent so much more time here. We rode e-bikes through the smaller villages, wine tasted, strolled through town, visited the Hospice - something I almost did not do and I am SO glad I did! This town is incredibly charming, easy to get to and an absolute must! I am already dreaming about returning.

For those who love HISTORY , good food and fabulous wines,...
For those who love HISTORY , good food and fabulous wines, Bourgogne is the place to visit , and Beaune is the largest city in the area.
To make burgundy wine, you need special soils , and exposition to the sun at certain moments of the day.
That part of France had différent owners, at the time of CHARLES QUINT ( the fifth) was built "Les Hospices de Beaune".
Now it belongs to France, since a few centuries.
At that time, and it is partly true to-day, Churches, Monasteries ,were protecting people in case of war or illness ,and were the only school, as well .
With their magnificent coloured tiled roofs, their architecture, their furniture, their Museum, Les Hospices de Beaune are UNIQUE in the world !

This is a Beautiful place!!
This is a Beautiful place!! And if you stay within the Ring road, everything is mere minutes walking distance. If you are a wine lover at all, this NEEDS to be on your bucket list!
A couple of things to be aware of: Accommodations vary Wildly in price and comfort, so shop around! Eating out in Beaune is extremely expensive, so if you are on a budget, a place with your own kitchen can be a great choice. Check out the local operating hours...they run differently than just about anywhere else I have been! And come prepared to walk...public transport here is not as readily available as other places in France!

Great town for a break from the bigger cities.
Great town for a break from the bigger cities. Plenty of history and intersting things to do and see. The old walled part of the town was fascinating with plenty of excellent restauruants and bars as well as places of interest. We walked the wall and it was a great way to get a perspecitve on the old town.
The staff makes this place a 10/10. We showed up woefully unprepared. Late (due to a delayed train), unaware that reservations are a must, without means for transportation around Beaune. The staff stayed open late, so we could check-in after hours. Gave us a list of things to do around town. And lastly, called cabs for us to get in and out of town, including having the hosts husband drive us to the train station after we were unable to book one of the few taxis in town. This place is amazing. The definition of hospitality.
Lovely surprise: clean, stylish and modern! Range of electric car chargers - we didn't use, but v useful for those en route to or from South France; great location as a v short walk into the medieval town of Beaune; although we didn't use, the hotel has an onsite swimming pool and offers towels to use - it was in the midst of a heatwave! Very stylish hotel (especially for a Mercure); had free water to fill your own bottles and a lovely lounge area with seating and books plus a stylish bar! Rooms great too
Very nice people, nice hotel
staff are very friendly and helpful
the hotel itself locates at the entree of Beaune. easy access to everything.
It is pity that we did not use swimming or sauna facility, because that day France got 230K infected.
We even chose to have breakfast in the bedroom. For the last minute, we changed our breakfast from 8hrs30 to 7hrs45
And precisely on 7hrs45, hotel staff brought us the breakfast.
for a budget hotel, it had everything that we needed, it was compact, but we all slept very well and it was very close to the highway, so easy to get off and back on again in the morning. The restaurants available for dinner were great, catering for all tastes and all within walking distance of the hotel. Car park was spacious and safe, and staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke English which was a plus.
The location was perfect. Very close to everything, but as quiet at night as it could be. We should have used the concierge more. The restaurant on the property is the best dinner we had in Beaune. It was stunning and with lovely ambience. The menu was inventive French. Delicious and beautiful. The staff were very professional and elite, yet so helpful and friendly. Excellent.
This hotel is to die for. Top location and a car-park nearby. A wonderful and unique place to enjoy Beaune. It gives you a nice view how wine producers houses might have looked like. Breakfast was phantasmic with delicious local cheese, charcuterie, jam, baguettes. The best this region has to offer.
Very good basic accommodation comfortable beds bathroom clean but very small and shower could due with upgrade. Good stopover hotel on journey to south of France just off autoroute. Several restaurants within 10 min walk and a Carrefour near by. Breakfast was good with usual choices. Free parking
Hotel le Cep is charming and in a great location close to the centre of Beaune. The building is old and beautifully kept with loads of character and antique furnishings. The stairs are quite steep, but there is a lift. The reception staff are very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us.
We would highly recommend Ibis Style at Beaune. The highlight of our stay was the location which was just a 5 mins walk from Beaune's city centre AND the service team that is managing the hotel. They were friendly (especially the breakfast team) and made our stay special.
This was a comfortable home. Our room was spotless and the largest of our entire 21 days in France. Our host Nadine was wonderful and gracious. She was full of good information about the area and restaurants.
I loved this hotel. it’s beautiful and conveniently located within walking distance of the sights to be seen in Beaune. Great staff! I forgot my iPad in the room and they texted me before I was out of the town.
Jonathan went out of way to make restaurant suggestions, bike reservations and guidiance for how best to enjoy Beaune.
Breakfast was wonderful. Eggs, meats, cheese, breads offered and prepared by host.
Hotel was charming even though it was a bit outdated. The room was spacious and very clean.
A superb location and we lucked out getting this last minute as we left Dijon one day earlier than planned.
We return to this lovely hotel just on the outskirts of Beaune every time we drive down through France. It never disappoints. Comfortable rooms, nice breakfast buffet, friendly staff.
It was a fabulous location in the heart of Beaune. Very convenient to restaurants, Pâtisseries, coffee, the open air market and the key historical destinations like the Hotel Dieu.
It’s a very nice hotel surrounded by vineyards. The room was big and comfortable and the food was good. It’s a great location and convenient for the beautiful town of Beaune.
very good hotel if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg in Beaune ( which is best spent anyhow in wine and dining !)
