This hotel was fabulous - the owner, Gil was so nice and a wonderful resource. He gave us tips about restaurants and site seeing and we did all his suggestions and it made our stay even more special. Our room was very large and comfortable with a big deck overlooking the river. Breakfast was exceptional. This was our first hotel of our trip and I’m afraid I am now spoiled and it has certainly raised my expectations.
This family-friendly hotel on the Rhine offers great views and regional cuisine. Weinhotel Landsknecht is a 5-minute drive from Sankt Goar and the Lorelei rock, and 12 minutes from the A61 motorway.

Excellent location, quiet and right on the river. The restaurant was great for both dinner and breakfast with local jams and honey, and an amazing view over the Rhein. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was plentiful.

Great location. Recent Reno to great standards. Good breakfast. Parking was not an issue for us but may not be as available during peak season.

A perfect location to base a short trip exploring the middle Rhine. Small enough that everything is in walking distance, but large enough to have plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops.
Easy access by train, but be warned, there are LOTS of steps up to the railway platform. Consider using St Goarhausen station instead, on the other side of the river, and use the ferry to get across the river. That station has no stairs.

Great stop-off for a few days, lots to see and do in the surrounding area. Wether with car, bicycle, hiking or boat excursions up or down River Rhein. Or take a local train to larger towns like Koblenz. Car and bike friendly. Castles to explore galore. Opposite side of river is the famous Loreley to explore and summer Toboggan run is fun. Above St.Goar is the huge Castle Burg Rheinfels and Biebernheim, hiking gateway above the River gorge.
Plenty of Restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlours during daytime. Couple of restaurants/pub need advance table reservation. These are very good for food.
Scenery is gorgeous and plenty of it!

Cute little town in the middle of everything.
Cute little town in the middle of everything. If you want to explore the villages in the south or in the north St Goar is just right and better priced than Koblenz for example. Beautiful castle right in town. You can take a day in the Rhine from St Goar also. The food is not that great but if you like schnitzels, sauces, bratwurst, bread, and beer it is perfect! Easy to get around, great breakfast at St Goar café. They dont advertise it but make you great scramble eggs!

Sankt Goar is a small town on the Rhine with many hotels and restaurants. From the river promenade you will see many castles and the famous Lorelei. A ferry is also available for crossing the Rhine. I highly recommend! If you drive, the scenery from the river road is wonderful. Coming by train is also very easy.

Staff went above and beyond normal service to help us.
Staff went above and beyond normal service to help us. The allowed for early drop off of luggage before check-in so we could explore the town and let us leave our bags after check-out. They gave helpful advice on the town and the nearby castle.

The view from the castle hotel is gorgeous.
The view from the castle hotel is gorgeous. The town itself is very small and doesn't have much to do, compared to other towns on the Rhine such as Rudesheim Am Rhein and Bacharach. However, you could go to many nearby places by car or by the hourly train.
The hotel is very beautiful. We were in the new addition with a balcony and a wonderful view of the river. We did not use the spa area or the pool but I did take a look at the area and it was very nice. We saw lots of other guests using the area. Food in the restaurant was exceptional. The view from the restaurant windows was amazing. Food is the Bistro Cafe was also very good. We arrived just 5 minutes before the kitchen closed, but they were very nice.
The room was spotless, very recently renovated and tastefully furnished. The location is perfect: very central and quiet: if you know the Rhine valley with its busy and noisy transport routes (ships, trains, cars, lorries) you actually appreciate the few hotels which are truly shielded from the noise attacking from all sides. Breakfast was great, huge selection, fresh veggies and fruit, we didn't miss anything! Staff was friendly.
Beautiful hotel, exudes atmosphere, for example paintings with rural themes in the stairwell, exceptionally beautifully situated on the Rhine. Our large room had fantastic views over the river , ferry, opposite bank of the Rhine and "Burg Katz." Staff extremely friendly and speak several languages. Very extensive breakfast with lots of fruit, vegetarian on request.
We had a lovely room with a large balcony, able to sit out with a beer and watch the Rhine with its continuous stream of boats.
Hotel is clean, very comfortable, big bedrooms, great breakfast and a really friendly and helpful host.
Close to the boat station, interesting castle to explore, great cake cafe in the town.
The hotel was in a great location for the railway station, I walk with a stick and managed very well. The car ferry and cruise boat stop was across the way and we had an uninterrupted view of the river Rhine. The town with shops and restaurants an easy flat walk of 2-3 minutes.
The hotel is an old traditional German Inn which was exactly what we wanted. The view from our window was fantastic. There are plenty of restaurants nearby in all price categories. The receptionist was very helpful and the breakfast was excellent. This all came at a low price!
location, character, friendly staff, great food including excellent breakfast, superb views.
the rooms are quite dated but that’s what I love about the place. I don’t always want to feel as though I’m in a generic boring hotel room with phone chargers everywhere.
Off season travel is the best. Got the biggest room in the hotel. Breakfast was second to none - awesome food, way to much to eat, and 100% fresh. In the heart of St. Goar, meters from the great Zur Krone restaurant and the pizzeria.
- Great location in front of the Rhine just 5 min walk from Sankt Goar station. Our room had a nice view of the Rhine
- Inexpensive
- Has free cancellation policy which is rare in the region and a great plus in this pandemic times
The flat is located very central in Sankt Goar, and makes it very easy to do shoping, cafe visits, and dinning in resturants by foot. And for us was the open wieve to the trafic on the river from the flat absolutly marvelus.
Very nice hotel just across from the Lorelei with a great view of the Rhine. Fantastic breakfast and very accommodating staff. They lent us bikes for the day to ride the path to Bingen and take the ferry back.
Charming hotel in a great location close to the river and just steps from the ferry docks. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the beds were very comfortable. My room had a great view of the river.
Nice family run hotel with a beautiful location. The staff are friendly and had some good tips. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast was tasty. The value for the price is great.
Great location with a perfect view of the rock!
Centrally located in the mid Rhine region, one of the most beautiful parts of Germany.
Close to the boat cruise.
