The best thing about Lörrach is that it is near the Fondation Beyeler and Basel but with less expensive lodging and restaurants. The Greek restaurant next to our hotel was fantastic! We ate there twice but there were several other restaurants nearby.

It misses just a bit of personality: most of the historycal center has been completely renewed. In many places in the black forest you get a Konus or Schwarzwald card that allows you to travel on regional transport for free for the duration of your stay. The area you can travel is huge including most of the Black forest area. It's defininately worth asking about this. Surprisingly amazing little place with loads of nearby shops...
Surprisingly amazing little place with loads of nearby shops. We went to the design museum which was interesting and well worth a look if you’re into design, architecture etc. There is a ruined castle nearby with a beer garden and the train station is right across the road from the hotel. Plenty of cereals fruit & yoghurt, excellent bread, in the heatwave the breakfast rom did get very hot so a extra blast of the existing aircon would be good. Underground parking was a bonus as we drove from england,lorrach was a good location for crossing into Switzerland next day (no border checks) staff also very good. Free travel card in buses and trams is available, allowing a quick trip into Basel if you like.

The hostel is located right in front of train station and in the middle of the Lörrach. The room was clean and they provided the clean sheet and towels on the free bed. With the key card that you open your room, you can have access to the locker. Very good experience.

The room is not clean. And there is no staff at the hostal the room is very small .
