Ballarat is terrific.
Ballarat is terrific. Full of history, culture and shopping. Lake Wendouree and the Botanic gardens are always a delight. Lunch at Craigs Hotel Atrium was very special and a good price. The Gallery always has something new to see as the exhibits change often. Eureka Stockade museum is a really good exhibition and tells the story of the Rebellion. The King Bakery on Sturt street has THE BEST vanilla slices and meat pies. Yellow Espresso next door does a great coffee too. Op shops are well situated. Messer & Opie is a really nice Men's & Women's clothing shop in the Bridge street Mall. I would have liked to have walked in the downtown area but I didn't know how to pay for parking. The main purpose of being in Ballarat was to visit Sovereign Hill which we could have spent so much more time at. This was better than we had expected. Ballarat is a historical gem, it reeks of history everywhere you go and is easy to get around. The restaurants, cafes, pubs and people we met were all great. I was a little taken aback by the car park which was the only aspect of the property I had any concerns with. Some people arriving later in the evening may have found the car park a challenge in the dark. The reception was excellent and all of the facilities were first class. It is in the black book for a return visit.

Whole house with a garage was such a treat and lovely to have pet bowl was a lovely touch. It was a lovely quiet part of Ballarat.
