Pretty little town on the lake, with a couple of excellent restaurants nearby serving local cuisine mostly. Lots to see, lovely walks, hikes and drives. One glaring problem they need to address ASAP. Gmunden lacks a decent 4/5 star hotel. There are a couple which are adequate 3 stars.

Very nice city with a breathtaking view with a castle on the lake and high hills covered in clouds. The lake is crystal clear, so perfect for swimming, or sailing. There are ferrys that can take you to other parts of the lake. Just an absolutely gorgeous and clean city with very welcoming people. Many art galleries and all sorts of exhibitions. We also reccomend Hotel Zum Goldenen Hirschen in the city centre with a luxury design and very nice staff.

Amazing lake town, with a special sea-lake architecture. Small but charming and the locals are very friendly. Good number of beds and rooms for a family of 4. Rather unique layout and interior - interesting but a bit of a double edged sword. Host (and family) were friendly and helpful to let us shower in their bathroom when the hot water ran out in the apartment (to be fair, this was apparently an atypical occurrence).ShawnNetherlands
