The self check-in takes your payment before telling you if it can print a room key. In our case it couldn’t, leaving me, my wife and 2 young children stranded, with no one to call to help. Shocking, disgusting and disgruntled.

We have stayed here several times before and have got to know both the town and the hotel well. We really like it and use it as an annual stop of to and from skiing. We book the restaurant Les Sarments in Place de Republique. Great food and atmosphere but it is important to book in adavance.

We only stopped overnight but the hotel was on the town square and there was free overnight parking immediately outside the hotel. There were also a number of eateries and bars on the square which all appeared acceptable.
We didn't have the time to stay and look around the town next day but it looked to have some interesting features and was a fairly typical French town with easy access to the Autoroute.

This is a perfect place for those who like culture, history and architecture, e.g. Notre Dame-en-Vaux, or Chalons cathedral and would like to taste champagne or to discover the picturesque tiny villages in the Champagne region. Not far from the Catalaunian plaines (Attila/Aetius 451 CE/AD).

A great place to use as a stop over or even spend a couple of days to visit the local Champagne Houses in nearby Epernay. A good selection of bars and restaurants all serving tasty food. Chalons-en-Champagne is very easy to walk around with no traffic to cause you any problems. The central square is a great place to park.

We stayed in the Le Renard with three people in two rooms. The rooms were good, and quiet.
Locating the hotel was a bit difficult since it is on a pedestrian area, but after phoning in we learned that it could be approached via Rue Lochet, which was a good help.
The breakfast was very good. Good selection of cereals and fruit, bread etc.
In the evening the restaurant and the bar were closed, but we did not see that as a shortcoming as around the Place were several establishments which catered for our dinner and a nightcap.
We stayed here en route from Italy to Calais, traveling with our dog. A very clean, comfortable, pet-friendly stay with a nice restaurant. The breakfast was exceptional—one of the better hotel breakfasts I've had traveling through Europe. Not huge, but every item carefully selected and of very high quality. The basilica across the street is beautiful and added a lot to the ambience of the property.
This is the second time we have stayed and have booked again for August. The location of the hotel is excellent for all restaurants and bars and the nearby Champagne town of Epernay which is well worth a visit. Breakfast is adequate and tasty. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Nice reception area, room was actually a 1 bedroom apartment with kitchenette, lounge area and enclosed balcony. Was all new and clean, nice spacious bathroom with big towels. Underground parking was handy as it was pouring with rain. Near city centre but quiet.
Everything. In fact, the photos do not do the place justice. The apartment had everything you could need and, although we did not meet our host, we knew she was on hand. Great location. Near to the centre and Plage. And, parking was easy on the street outside.
The hotel is walking distance from the city centre. It is a nice building with a garden. Garden is nicely decorated (nice statues). Room is spacious and very comfy beds. There is a nespresso coffe machine and a big TV with Netflix
Very smart boutique hotel, whilst being relaxed and casual. Good facilities including parking and large swimming pool. The owner, Bridget particularly welcoming and helpful. Well positioned for a stop-over between UK and the alps.
The hotel is located right in the center of Châlons-en-Champagne, near all tourist attractions. The room was comfortable and clean, and unlike in many other hotels, towels weren't replaced every day (at my request).
The property was very easy to find & a warm welcome from the staff. The meal in the evening was very good & the breakfast was as expected for an Ibis hotel. Also a very good dog walk by the side of the hotel.
It is in a nice quiet area with very old buildings close by.
A lovely boulangerie very close too.
Easy access to appartment and parking nearby if you don't arrive too late in the evening.
perfectly located near the main squares but very quiet
excellent in every way, perfect overnight travelling from the coast or the Alpes
