The old town within the walled city has plenty to explore. Lots of places to eat and drink. We went on an interesting walking tour which explained the history of the city. We were only there a day as walking the Camino Primitivo but could easily have stayed longer.NigelUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

The city is beautiful and has lots to offer… for example the Cathedral has an impressive museum upstairs on the gallery as well as a stunning altarpiece and stained glass windows; the tourist information office has an important exhibition about the Roman wall, which is apparently the most complete walled city in Europe. You can walk all the way along the wall in about 45 minutes. Coupled with this, there are amazing bars and restaurants with friendly locals and the Playa de Las Catedrales, north of Lugo is the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen.JaneSpain - 8.0Scored 8.0

Lugo a lovely city with Roman Wall all around Old city. Lovely walk around on top of wall. Cathedral well worth a visit. Hotel Mendez Nuñes where we stayed was lovely and wel located within the city walks restaurants and bars very nice

Mostly pedestrian within the walls, so easy to wander through interesting streets and you can do full circuit of the Roman walls,about 2k, wide path and views over city.Other Roman remains slightly disappointing although the mosaic house was worth visiting. We also enjoyed the exhibition on the Camino in the regional tourist office. Panels in Gallician, Spanish and English. Helpful attendant showed us costume display, garden and gave us leaflets for the different Camino routes.

Lugo is a good place to visit for a day or overnight trip - the Roman walls and old town offer good options for sightseeing- walk the entire wall and then there are many fabulous bars and restaurants - great Tapas - it is not touristy

There was a lift, the room was well air conditioned, the furniture was lovely, bed comfortable with good linen. The reception had an excellent and very helpful attendant. We also used the hotel parking area, which was expensive, but given it was within the city walls was good value. Only a short stroll the the main restaurant area and attractions within Lugo. The interior feels like a boutique hotel. The bathroom was just great, We were happy to use the washing machine. The reception was perfect. The lady was happy for us to take our race-bikes to the room, which is a great comfort on a long distance trip. Lugo was a great surprise and a don't-miss town on the Camino to Santiago. The apartment is ideally located. Quit but near the center.

A lot of bars and restaurants in these vivid neighborhood, If you come by car a paid parking is available close to the gate and hotel. Ask for a room at the back if your intention is to get an early sleep. Nice, very clean and spacious room and bathroom. Excellent value for money. We showed up early and our hostess stored our bags while we went for lunch. The combo washer/dryer was outstanding after 9 days on the Camino and we opted for some light snacks from the grocery for dinner after a large lunch for which the kitchen was well suited. Best air-conditioning we have had in Spain!
