Excellent Breakfast, choice of cooked or continental, freshly cooked on ordering.
The location in the village was fine, fairly central and we had a dedicated parking space off road.
We had dinner there twice and enjoyed it. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, all the staff were very helpful.

Hotel had good facilities in regards to drinks etc. Room was large enough. Breakfast was good though a little on the steep side especially having to pay for tea seperately and not included. Locality was good.

Tideswell is in a great location within the Peak District.
Tideswell is in a great location within the Peak District. The village seems to be a thriving community and there are plenty of walks from it without needing to jump in the car. It's a 20 minute drive to Chatsworth and same or less to Castleton.

Tideswell is a convenient village for visiting Buxton, Bakewell and the Monsal trail in the Peak District.
It has 3 pubs within the village that all serve food, plus an Italien restaurant, a fish and chip shop and a local convenience store. The eateries get very busy in the evening so it's probably best to pre book. There are plenty of pubs in surrounding villages.
You probably need a car to get there, we did not use public transport.
There is a lovely church known as the Cathedral of the Peaks.

Possibly blown away by the friendliness of the place.
Possibly blown away by the friendliness of the place. I was expecting it to be friendly but it exceeded my expectations. Cathedral of the west worth a vist. I recommend a full breakfast from nearby cafes and a central location for many key Peak district sites.
Location and cottage were both superb, in the heart of the village with surrounding walking routes/Bakewell only a short drive away. Lovely country pubs and essential amenities all within walking distance.
Designated parking directly opposite the cottage was fab and enough space to accommodate the dog too.
The log burner was an additional touch for those chilly evenings. Would definitely stay here again!
Really cosy cottage in an excellent location in the Peaks, close to great walks. Dog friendly, and though snug, had everything you might want or need in the kitchen etc. The water pump for the shower had broken before our arrival, but was fixed by the owners reasonably quickly. Comfy bed after a long hike, and plenty of on-street parking.
I really like the cottage, it was clean and modern. Very comfortable for the family stay. Kitchen was fully equipped so it was easy to prepare breakfast and food. It is located in the very nice village Tideswell. Restaurant, local pub and Coop are within the walking distance. It is close to the Peak District Tourist attractions.
Such a friendly place to stay. Very welcoming and helpful.
Room was clean and had all you needed in the way of facilities
Food was excellent in the George but also further options locally within walking distance which was good to be able to have
Ideal location close to Bakewell Buxton & Chatsworth House
Primrose Cottage is in a beautiful village right next to a post office / general store with a great pub a stones through away. It’s a short walk into Tideswell with some of the best hikes we’ve been on. Primrose Cottage has everything you could need, it is so warm cosy with great attention to detail.
The convenience ( and prettiness) of the location- we could walk to all eating and drinking establishments in the village easily from the cottage.
We drove to Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock, Chatsworth and Snake Pass- all easily reached from Tideswell. But most of all the peace and quiet was glorious!
Due to its corner plot, the cottage has huge rooms - plenty of space for us all. The house was well equipped. Very clean. The location was excellent - very easy to walk to a number of cafes/pubs, and Tideswell is really central to get to other towns/walks. We would happily stay here again.
Very cosy cottage - perfect location. Loved the little touches around the cottage.
Would highly recommend - lots of shops in village. Great organic meat from the butchers.
Walks - would recommend Tideswell to Monsal Head and Chrome Hill as looked like something from the Hobbit!
Great cottage for a family stay and although we don't have a dog, we liked how dog friendly it is. Lovely rooms and great location, no parking problem at all, close to a pub , some restaurants and shops .
Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything that you needed.
The location was ideal for the event at Chatsworth we had booked, and for going to Castleton area. Tideswell is an interesting village with lots of architectural points. The property was the right size to use vas a base for a short break.
It was a great place to stay!! Couldn't fault the cottage!! Stunning area for walking, we climbed Mam Tor, also in Tideswell a short walk from the cottage a perfect Italian restaurant and you can take your own booze 😀 called Sal's.
This property is in such a great location easy walking distance to all shops , pubs etc
The cottage is lovely and has everything that we needed whilst staying there ! We loved having the log burner on after our long walks
The cottage was in a lovely, quiet location with just a short walk into the village centre. The village has various pubs, cafes and a shop. The cottage itself had everything you needed for a comfortable stay.
The staff and the room were lovely. Sam, Leon & John were so helpful & accommodating. I think Tideswell could be the friendliest place I've ever been to!
