What an amazing stay! We only had one night but will definitely be back. The location is amazing with breathtaking views and walks, staff had a great sense of humour while providing excellent service, food was delicious and the building itself was great.

The personable and thoughtful service from all the staff was a highlight. Having access to a variety of guest lounges each with a different character made it incredibly easy to relax at the end of the day...

Everyone working there were professional and friendly.
Everyone working there were professional and friendly. The hotel was spotless and showed the benefits of a recent refurb. We ate in the hotel the first night and the food was of a very high standard. Our room was in the newer wing (Room Fyne).. there are four rooms in a line with wonderful views over the loch... and I believe these rooms are slightly bigger than those in the older wing.
The rooms, restaurant, bar and lounge were spotless. We had a minor issue with plumbing (the shower temp was cool), were told that they had reduced the water pressure to our room and that would be remedied asap.
There is a full size snooker table in its own lounge that we may use the next time.
On our next night and at the suggestion of the hotel manager, we ate at the Kilchrenan Inn ( 5 mins drive from the hotel; you have to book as it is very popular). They just don't now how good they are. It was one of the nicest meals we have every had in Scotland. We could have chosen every option as the menu was so varied!
All in all, a huge surprise and an excellent stay at the Taychreggan hotel. Many thanks.

This is a very comfortable hotel with good rooms, friendly and efficient staff. The hotel has a beautiful location on the shores of Loch Awe.
We ate in the hotel each night; food was very good.
Kilchrenan is located some miles down a single track road; this means that each time you go out sightseeing you initially have to use this road.
In this part of Argyll there are many outdoor things to see and do such as hill walking, visits to Oban and elsewhere.

As I have communicated already to you, when we arrived , after booking some 8 weeks before, we discovered that no booking had been made and that there was no room in the hotel for us. This reflects extremely badly on your company , we wish you to organise a new date for us to visit the hotel at no cost to ourselves except for food and drink
For the start it seems like an adventure, we arrived late night and drove the many miles down single lane roads. As mentioned in other reviews the feeling of getting lost is real. Then you drive through the gates to find a real hidden treasure. Host had left the main door open for us and a lovely welcoming note to help us find our room. Waking up you get the opportunity to find out some of the history while having a nice breakfast, take a few moments to look closer to the painting’s!. A walk in the grounds is also highly recommended.
We loved everything, possibly one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in! To us this was a 4 star hotel, not a 3 star! The hotel was in a gorgeous setting overlooking the water. The staff were incredibly friendly and the room was very spacious. There were two restaurants and a bar with games. The dinner and breakfast were amazing (just missing baked beans). The only downside was that we had only booked to stay one night and wish we had allowed more time to really enjoy what this hotel had to offer! We will definitely be returning!
Everything about our stay was amazing. From the previous reviews, my expectations were already high, but I hadn't realised there were so many little, quiet public rooms / areas. If next time we visit the weather isn't so good, we will have to make more use of the inside facilities.Everyone we met was welcoming and helpful. The food was fantastic -especially the breakfast. We so loved sitting outside enjoying the view and the fire pits were an added luxury.
Enchanted. Quirky. Friendly. Tasty. Interesting. Full of character.
The 2 housekeepers were so helpful and interesting.
The grounds are multi faceted and established.
On the loch awe.
A shame we only had 1 night there.
The bed was so comfy. The bedrooms individually decorated with old furniture.
Super cosy.
The venison was delicious!
An old school hotel with old school values.
Lovely!
Fantastic setting, interior design, attention to detail, eco consciousness, beautifully restored, great atmosphere and ambience, lounge areas, loch-side seating and walks, restaurants, menu choice and quality, food presentation outstanding, cyclist friendly, snooker room, service, value for money, breakfast selection.....and more!!!
We received free upgrade to an amazing large room with loch view. Much appreciated.
Our dinner choices of duck confit/sausage as appetizer and a most delicious venison, main course, paired with a Romanian Pinot Noir were an excellent choice.
The hotel’s isolated location at the end of a long one-way road was truly magnificent.
We love the hotel. It is a beautiful old house within a glorious setting. Gary gave us the warmest of welcomes and was attentive to all our needs. He added a real quality to our stay with his cheerfulness, humor, and knowledge. The rest of the staff were great too. Our rooms were beautiful and the food delicious.
Location was stunning. Out in the middle of nowhere and right on the banks of the Loch. Food was exceptional, beautiful dinners the two nights we stayed. Great choice of breakfast and staff more than happy to accommodate requests that were not stated on the menu.
We absolutely LOVED everything about this property. The staff was so kind and accommodating, the food was absolutely incredible, and the views were spectacular. We hope to visit Scotland again some day just so we can stay again!
Varied menu, excellent value for money and a real dining experience with friendly well informed staff who worked so well as a team and made our holiday so comfortable. The hotel felt more like staying in a large country house
Really lovely stay. Location was fantastic and the staff were very attentive. We had dinner one night which was delicious. It is a very very quiet hotel, which some people may really enjoy. I would recommend a stay.
Meals were very good! My (grown) son's burger was one of the best he has ever eaten.
The location on Lake Awe was amazing.
Talking to our wait staff - so very friendly and informative when asking about the hotel.
Loved the room and location. Food should have been excellent but at dinner there was a mistake and at breakfast they give you a cheese scone instead of a muffin with the poached eggs
Very good hotel in a stunning location, staff very friendly, helpful and had a good knowledge of the area, great place to relax, unwind and enjoy a good selection of Whiskies.
The off the beaten track, beautiful Ardanaisig Hotel nestled on 240 Acres with a beautiful view of a loch and mountains is breathtaking. A wonderful country hotel.
