Beautiful mountain views from the spacious room. Great location in the centre of town. Walking distance from the train station and to the ski lifts and waterfall. Edith and Silvia are lovely hosts, very hospitable, making you feel like at home. One get a family feel once you walk through the door. We could leave our bags already in the morning, before the check-in, and could also store them after the check-out, during the day of our departure. We got breakfast when we arrived in the morning even though it wasn't included in our stay, this was super nice!
Breakfast is great. The buffet provides a variety of options. Freshly boiled eggs are also served!

Our room in the hotel Badeschloss was modern, clean and comfortable, it included a table and chairs to sit at. We had a room in the new part of the hotel which had a spectacular view down the valley. (We spent more than our usual budget on this room). The décor in Badeschloss is a bit quirky and fun, e.g. the interior of the lift looks like you are underwater in a swimming pool :)
The staff were very helpful and spoke good English.
We enjoyed a swim in the heated pool on the roof top.
The breakfast included in our room rate was in the hotel opposite, in a most impressive dining room. Really felt like we were spoiling ourselves.

We had a fabulous time at this wonderful resort where the staff were friendly and helpful offering a warm welcome complete with glass of Prosecco. Our room was large, airy and with a great balcony overlooking the mountains. The environment is stunning and there’s a wonderful walk up to Bad Gastein alongside the waterfall.
We loved the pool and sauna area - perfect chill out zone. The property has a great bar where cake is offered in the afternoon. The food was generous and outstanding and we can’t wait to come for another stay.

Bad Gastein used to be the place to be in the mountains...
Bad Gastein used to be the place to be in the mountains until 60 years ago. The architecture reflects this, beautiful belle epoque buildings everywhere.
Unfortunately Bad Gastein wanted to become more "modern" in the 60-70ies. So they destroyed the village with awful buildings. The elegance was lost.
Since 20 years those mistakes are being corrected and from my point of view they managed to hide the worst "architectural disturbances" in the meanwhile. And you can already feel it: it´s alive again and again gives one the impression to be in an elegant, timeless place.
Also it seems that a new generation of hoteliers and restaurant owners is bringing some freshness into the village.
So i can clearly recommend: go and see!

We had skiied in the Ski Amade area before but not in Bad Gastein - it was a very special surprise. We chose it because the resort is at high altitude, and we were taking a chance on good snow conditions, mid December, but it exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be back!!!

We came during off-season - so a lot of places were closed. But we still found excellent restaurants, and things to do - and, to be honest, enjoyed the quiet. There were too many great restaurants to mention - every experience was unique, either because of the tasty menu, the views or the ambience.
The walk along the waterfall is amazing! We walked up the path for the first time at night, coming home after dinner. It’s well maintained and well lit - my mom did it with ease at 83 years young!

Badgastein is a little gem in the Austrian Alps, with many options for a rejuvenating holiday. The paths in the mountains are enchanting, there is a ski center for winter sports, while the thermal waters feed the spas of many hotels, as well as the big municipal spa of this small town. There are regular connections by train to other parts of Austria and by bus to neighbouring villages.
The only "disadvantage" is that the typical cuisine of the area is not inspirational and the dining experience is not that high compared to the other services offered in the area.

We skipped one day skiing and went to the Alpentherme at the Bad Hofgastein, it was a great and relaxing experience. But too hot inside. The children under 16 could not use tha sauna complex, not much to do for teen boys there.
The panoramic view of Bad Gastein from our apartment was breath-taking. The private sauna and bath in the room were very therapeutic. The spa and treatments made a most rejuvenating New Year getaway. The hotel is in a picturesque valley just next to the waterfall. We were invited to celebrate the New Year countdown at the balcony with fellow guests, with complimentary bubblies, and unforgettable fresh snow. From welcome to good-bye, the staff created a wonderful oasis. Thank you for the fairytale-like vacation!
My stay in this belle epoque villa was the best in Austria! The staff was outstanding, the food as well (highly recommend having half-board), and the furniture and ambiance were refreshingly old-fashioned (the villa's motto). The shuttle to/from the train station/ski area was very useful. Moreover, unlike most ski resorts (which offer mainly ski), there is so much more to do in Bad Gastein. I will gladly be back in Villa Excelsior and Bad Gastein!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful hotel, and I cannot express enough how amazing my experience was. From the moment we arrived, the hosts went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were incredibly accommodating and always had a smile on their faces, making me feel like I was part of their family. The food at this hotel was truly exceptional. Every meal was like dining at a 5-star restaurant!
One of the most luxurious and beautiful hotels we've been to! We just fell in love with the place.
Everything feels like a palace,
The spa is amazing, the staff was unusually kind (especially the lovely and wonderful Bruno) and helped with every little detail,
The rooms are amazingly decorated
The view from the room is perfect
good breakfast
And above all an atmosphere of peace and quiet
We will definitely be back!!
Excellent food with a variety of choices for breakfast and nice dinner menu, clean and spacious rooms, good spa facilities. Superb staff at restaurant for breakfast/dinner, making us feel very comfortable and relaxed at meal times. The ski bus station was right there in front of the hotel; we used our car mainly for transport as Bad Gastein/Hofgastein were within a few minutes of reach with some great scenery.
Amazing location. Very spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. And the owners were so nice and friendly! We pretty much go to Austria every year, but next time we are definitely staying at this hotel! Everything was perfect. We even got a little goodie-bag with small toys and drawing materials for the kids before we left! We can definitely recommend this place!
Great position near the center of Bad Gastein (about 10 minutes walk to the railway station, which is right where the ski resort and the amazing alpine view point lift are). Very friendly and helpful staff giving us tips what else we could do in Bad Gastein beside the obvious skiing and mountain top views. And we loved the balcony with mountain view! :)
The apartment is very comfortable and clean. Everything looks new. And there is a lot of space and cabinets to put your belongings. There is floor heating, what is very cosy in winter.
City of Bad Gastein is a minute by car, and the bus stop is also there in a few steps.
The host is very nice and helpful. We spent a beautiful winter holiday there.
Sanotel is a budget hotel - you get what you pay for and that's good.
The personnel was very friendly and helpful.
The room, bedsheets and bathroom were clean.
The view from the breakfast area is truly amazing. The breakfast itself is basic, but it's fine - there's something for everyone.
i like every every every things ,, really I appreciate your efforts in this amazing hotel , the apartment was super super perfect ,, the parking ,, the playground out side ,, the kids club inside the hotel ,, the shop inside the hotel the restaurant ,, i will come again
The property is amazing and beautifully located in Bad Gastein. The rooms are new and modern, cozy decor. The staff were so welcoming and sweet, all of them. The bus to the ski area stops just outside and takes 5-7 min, very convenient.
Nice, stylish design hotel, recently opened, great vibe, morning yoga class, fantastic breakfast, restaurant with friendly staff. Small spa area with pool and 2 saunas. Free shuttle bus to Gastein ski station (twice a day)
It’s an apartment hotel so it came with kitchen and appliances. 10-15 mins walk to ski lift although bus station is available just 3-4 mins walk down the hotel. Besides the owner is really friendly and kind.
A great comfy flat with all the amenities and just 5 minutes walk from the ski lift and Bad Gastein train station.
We had a pleasant stay.
